I am back in my road warrior mode going this time to my backyard of my beautiful Morbihan, lovely Bretagne and in my belle France, I have come here before seeking the story of Arthur and the roundtable ,and decided to come back to the area. The town of Néant-sur-Yvel is part of the Paimpont forest, west of Rennes, and only 58 km from Pontivy. Also, 55 minutes by car from my house ! In 1947, the town became Néant-sur-Yvel.

The Saint-Peter’s Church was founded before 1535 by the Montauban family. The church is in the shape of a Latin cross. The exterior and interior decoration of the church is composed of Flamboyant and Renaissance elements. The square tower, attached to the nave of the church, dates from 1720, is surmounted by a slate spire. The apse window has preserved some fragments of stained glass from the 16C, representing God the Father with the Son, dead on his knees, Christ, the Virgin and some apostles, The large stained glass window in the church represents, under the feet of Saint Peter , Saint James and Saint Barthélemy, the old castle of Bois de la Roche. The Calvary of the Saint-Peter’s Church dates from the 16C.

The Church Saint-Pierre,is nice need to come inside to discover the tomb of Anne Toussainte de Volvire, also called the Saint of Néant. The marble tomb dates from 1881. She also has her portrait on one of the stained glass windows dating from the 17C. The church measures approximately 24 meters by 6 meters. In the interior are seen from the arcades, one ogival, the other full-sections, and the windows of the Flamboyant and Renaissance styles. The chapel of the northern transept, called Bouëxis, contains two still tumular stones, decorated with a simple patted cross; That of the southern transept is under the term of the Rosary.

There you go folks, another dandy road warrior trip by yours truly, this time with my boys and Rex ,as we are getting less sadly. We are looking forward to discover more beauties in my beautiful Morbihan in the future, the potential is awesome! Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
