The Arbre d’Or of Tréhorenteuc !!!

I am back in my road warrior mode going this time to my backyard of my beautiful Morbihan, lovely Bretagne and in my belle France, I have come here before seeking the story of Arthur and the roundtable ,and as read updates to it decided to come back to the area. The town of Tréhorenteuc is located on the border with Ille-et-Vilaine dept 35. it is the second smallest town in the Morbihan ! It was one of the first towns to keep a parish register, from 1573, to notify the burials. After the 1940s, the history of Tréhorenteuc mingles with the Arthurian legend.  The town is 68 km from Rennes, and 72 km from my house, worth the detour. You have to walk over a km to as much as 4 km to see it all.

The Arbre d’Or consists of a chestnut tree trunk covered with 5,000 gold leaves (equivalent to 40 g of gold). This symbolic tree in the heart of an area of ​​small raised stones, is surrounded by five other trees, blackened with its cutout in the shape of deer antlers, this tree symbolizes the rebirth and immortality of the forest and nature, but also “the human stupidity often at the origin of natural disasters”.  It quickly became a popular attraction Merlin’s seat is also called the “serrated rock”. It is an eroded rock on the moor which overlooks the Val sans retour. According to local legend, the enchanter Merlin came to sit there to meditate as well as to watch over the valley of no return. The L’hotié de Viviane located near Paimpont (35), is also called Tomb of the Druids. It is a megalith, dated from 3355 to 2890 BC. , where the fairy Viviane would have taken refuge It would be in this stone castle that the fairy would keep Merlin chained, on the hill of Val-sans-Retour, in the middle of woods and rocks.

Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
