I am back into my best mode, road warrior! I am looking to find new areas not visited or hardly passing by for a more in depth look, and I am thrill to share it with the world! I came to see other towns but as usual drove by some nice ones too, this is the case of Moussé. The town is located in the department 35 of Ille et Vilaine in my lovely Bretagne region, It is located 45 km from Rennes, and 27 km from Vitré, and 167 km from my house. I passsed by it and saw the nice Church of the Holy Trinity ! Therefore, let me tell you a bit more of the Church de la Sainté Trinité ! Hope you enjoy the post as I.
Moussé is a small town located: 4 km from La Guerche-de-Bretagne, as well as 30 minutes by car from Rennes, Vitré and Châteaubriant, 20 minutes from the Rennes-Paris highway .The town has about 327 inhabitants !
The Church de la Sainté Trinité was originally located in the center of the cemetery. It had been partly destroyed by lightning in 1617. In 1904, a new church was built dedicated to the Holy Trinity, the new church takes into account elements of the pre-existing church such as the arcades of the crossing, the framework covering the nave and the diaphragm arch built in the 16-17C. The Renaissance style of the church was suggested to the architect by the 16C stone high altar.

The Church of the Holy Trinity (16-17C, and 20C. The old church consisted of a single nave with ogival windows, ending in a straight apse and accompanied by two more recent chapels; all this was old, although some portions of the nave seemed to date back to the Romanesque period. It could be that the building was largely rebuilt in the 17C, after a fire started by lightining , which, it is said, destroyed the bell tower in 1617. In 1685, François de Neufville, Duke of Villeroy, having become lord of Guerche, took possession of the church of Mousse in this latter capacity. Previously we saw the coat of arms of the dukes of Brissac, previously lords of la Guerche, painted in the main window placed in the chanceau, on the gospel side, and on a liter which went around the church inside and outside . At the end of the 19C, we could still see this old lordship border. The current church dates from 1904. The altarpiece of the main altar dates from the 16-17C.

This parish has been attested since the 15C. It seems that the oldest house dates back to the 14C, a manor named L’Hostel de Mocé. The origin of the town of Moussé is undoubtedly located in the village of “Vieux Moussé” to the west of the town, a undoubtedly Gallo-Roman site was spotted there near the old road. ancient Rennes-Angers. Mousse was from the historic Breton country of Guerche in the bishopric or grand country of Rennes. On March 8, 1792, Republican national guards burst into the parishes of Arbrissel, Moussé, La Selle and Availles to drive out their refractory priests (not loyal to the constitution but to God),.In 1803, the parish of Moussé was suppressed and its territory was united with Drouges; but it was reestablished by royal order dated April 16, 1826, and the bishop even appointed a rector there in 1817,
