The Church Abbey de la Trinité of La Trinité-Porhoët ,part II !!

There is so much to see, and wonderful architecture and history I like in La Trinité Porhoët, worth a detour, La Trinité-Porhoët is located in my beautiful Morbihan department no. 56, in the my lovely region of Bretagne. The Trinity of the Holy Trinity representing the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Villa de Trinitate was known from 1251 recalls that this place can be linked to the existence of a Gallo-Roman villa. It is 52 km from Vannes, and 16 km from Josselin as well as about an hour from my house!

I have already told much in my extensive other post on it, However, found me older new pictures to the blog that should be here, me think, Therefore, here is my new text and pictures on the Church Abbey de la Trinité of La Trinité-Porhoët ,part II !! Hope you enjoy it as I.

The Church Abbey de la Trinité or of the Trinity is an imposing monument here the moment you arrive into town. It would have belonged to the order of the Templars. In the 11C, with the foundation of a priory by the monks of Saint-Jacut, the inhabitants of La Trinité-Porhoët deserted the parish church of Saint-Judicaël for that of La Trinité.

Formerly in the diocese of Saint-Malo, the church was the seat of a priory of the abbey of Saint-Jacut. The church is partially Romanesque. Reconstructions in the 13C, 15C and 18C. The church includes a nave of seven bays, with side aisles, a transept and a choir ending in a rectilinear wall. In the 13C, opening on the north aisle of a portal whose pointed arch neighbors the semi-circular arch. In the 15C, on this same north aisle, a chapel was built preceded by a Gothic porch with ribbed vaults. At the same time, the arcades of the south aisle and those of the transept square were redone in third point, as well as the columns with capitals decorated with foliage, engaged in cylindrical pillars which support them. The choir, the crosspieces and the bell tower on the square of the transept were redone from 1742 to 1787. The church is covered with a framework whose north sandpit is sculpted with fleurons, foliage and angels carrying the instruments of the Passion .

There you go folks, this is a monumental church right in the city center of La Trinité Porhoët and worthy of visiting if its the only thing you come here for. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
