I was back in my road warrior mode going up to the northern parts of my lovely Bretagne to see new towns! The search is never ending with the abundance of beauties around here. The town of Quintin is located in the Côtes-d’Armor department 22, in my lovely Bretagne region, only 16 km from Saint-Brieuc, and less than an hour from my house. Strategically, the town is at the crossroads of the routes which go from Saint Brieuc  to Quimper  via  Rostrenen  on the one hand and from  Guingamp / Châtelaudren  to Lorient via  Loudéac  on the other hand. I went there on my way back on the D7 then D700 and finally the D768 roads, easy rides !

The Basilica Notre-Dame de Délivrance, the current Basilica, opened for worship in 1887, replaced a Collegiate Church which had been built at the end of the 14C, the location of the chapel of the Château de Quintin elevated to the rank of minor basilica by Pope Pius. After the French revolution, it was mounted on a wooden frame covered with a white coat. The Notre-Dame-de-Délivrance Basilica has as a relic a piece of the Belt of the Blessed Virgin Mary. According to tradition, this relic was brought back to Brittany around 1252 by Geoffroy Botherel, lord of Quintin, on his return from the seventh crusade. Very quickly, it was reported that the relic was the cause of numerous miracles and Quintin became an important place of pilgrimage. Notre Dame de Délivrance or Our Lady of Deliverance is particularly prayed to by pregnant women , Today, pilgrims can obtain a blessed ribbon that has been brought into contact with the relic either during a visit to the basilica or by writing to the shrine , The writer Paul Claudel, who attended Notre-Dame , recommended it, He is a French playwright, poet, essayist and diplomat, member of the French Academy. He is the brother of the sculptor Camille Claudel, the son-in-law of the architect Louis Sainte-Marie Perrin, and the father-in-law of the diplomat Jacques-Camille Paris.

On the tympanum of the facade is represented Geoffrey I Boterel in armor, the Virgin in the center and Robert de Saintonge, the patriarch of Jerusalem, as well as bishop of Nantes. Also, the basilica was the starting point for a torchlight procession organized on Good Friday in memory of the passage of Saint Vincent-Ferrier in 1418.

Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
