I went back up to the north of me at the Côtes d’Armor dept 22, We follow the road D786 to Paimpol ! Always by the coast and again a new town visited, amazing of the many wonderful spots that we still need to visit, easy does it, I will be telling you about this pretty town, we like in my road warrior mode ! For reference, the town of Paimpol is located in the Côtes-d’Armor department 22 in my lovely region of Bretagne, and in my belle France.

The Saint-Samson Notre Dame de Beauport Church is located in Kérity, part of Paimpol. There was a church of the same name at this location, dating from the 12C and which belonged to the abbey of Saint-Riom. The current Saint Samson Notre Dame de Beauport Church was built in 1859, which was blessed in 1863. The tower dates from 1890.

Kérity is a former town now a district of the town of Paimpol,   From a religious point of view, the parish of Kérity was enclosed in the bishopric of Saint-Brieuc was part of the deanery of Lanvollon reporting to the bishopric of Dol and was under the name of Saint Samson. The church of Keriti from 1189 or of Quérity from 1198 is cited in the charters of the abbeys of Saint-Riom and Beauport.

The first Saint-Samson Church in Kérity dates back to the end of the 12C. It belonged to the abbey of Saint-Riom. When it was abandoned, the church was given to the monks of Beauport Abbey in 1202, on whom it depended until the French revolution. Nothing remains of the old church, It was rebuilt in the 16C.

Nowdays, the tourist activity has developed around Beauport Abbey.(see post).

Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
