I like to tell you a bit more on Lanester, as looking at my vault found older pictures not in my blog and they should be! Memories of old always nice to have in my blog! Lanester is located in my beautiful Morbihan and lovely Bretagne, about 35 km from my house, It was created in 1909 by the dismemberment of Caudan, The Breton name of the town is Lannarstêr. This name comes from the appellation “lann-er-ster” and translates “the river moor” or “the mouth of the river”.
We have come here for shopping and eating several times and see posts, However, we have come more to eat at Oncle Scott’s restaurant in Lanester, The story is long but to put it short, we first came to know the restaurant chain in Honfleur Normandy (see posts) when we came to deposit the ashes of my dear late wife Martine at sea with the braves as she was, Looking for lunch we saw this western style restaurant and hop in, It was love at first sight we found out later they have branches all over the west and one near me at Lanester.
We , then, have come to it for my boys birthdays and reminiscent of our dear ones, My dear late dad Elio came to like it too especially for the barbecue spare ribs! Which of course, by now we have tried almost ,,,all their menu ! Recommended to all my local friends and visitors alike, The restaurant is only 29 km from my house, just get on the expressway N165 and exit/sortie at no 42 go around the traffic circle on your right dir Expo parc at end turn left go to end turn right and to the restaurant.
Understand from this that the setting will immerse you in the Great American West with its dining area scenes: in the middle of the saloon, on the cart, in the Bank, on the barrels and even in prison. It all started in 1996, when Laurent Marie, a young unemployed Norman but full of ideas, goes to the USA with the aim of finding inspiration for his next entrepreneurial adventure. He then stops at a highway rest stop in Mississippi and meets a country singer who is as friendly as he is intriguing, his name: Scott Randall Rhodes. The artist invites Laurent to his home while he gets back on his feet. Laurent will spend 3 days there during which his new friend Scott will introduce him to a generous and authentic America. This meeting marks the beginning of a great friendship and an adventure that will give birth to your favorite brand. Lovers of good food, authentic America and meetings, together they created the Uncle Scott’s brand in the image from our favorite country artist, Scott Randall Rhodes. The first restaurant was opened in 1998 in Tourlaville in Normandy. The rest is history….we are part of it ,gladly.

Scott Randall Rhodes and The Mississippi River Band out of Nashville, TN . The tour consisted of over 2,000 miles of travel to 18 shows in 14 different historical cities all over France at the different chain restaurants named “Oncle Scott’s”.
