As the best season is coming up for 2023, I try to bring nicer memories back into my life. Now that time has passed and all my dearest ones are gone with my mom Gladys , my wife Martine, and my dad Elio, this is the time where all comes back. I like to share these moment again with my readers. Thank you for reading me, and hope these posts brings joy to you and your families. Cheers! I came back to this wonderful town during Christmas market period. Lots of family memories that I like to keep alive on these posts in my blog, see many others, This is the first Christmas market we went back after the passing of all three with my dad the latest on January 7 2023. This is the Christmas of December 2023 in Rochefort en Terre !!!

The fairy tale wonderful cosy gorgeous medieval Rochefort en Terre in my beautiful  Morbihan. I live less than an hour from here! and love it!!! Each time coming here is an event of wonderful memories. First, the town is loaded with artists, painters, potters, jewerly makers, leather makers you name they are here spread all over the inner core of the old town a whimsical ride to the best of my beautiful Morbihan, and lovely Bretagne  and  of my belle France. And what makes it special the spirit of Christmas , voted as the best many times in different scenarios.

La Petite Cité of Rochefort en Terre lights up every evening from 17h30 (variable depending on the brightness), Stroll through the streets and alleys of the Little City of Character sparkling with a thousand lights thanks to the numerous garlands, stalactites and other curtains of light. Who knows, you might even come across Santa Claus under light snowflakes…

Dream in front of the windows of artists and craftsmen who compete in imagination to exhibit their creations. Find the ideal gift in one of the many shops in the village, This is all thru January 7, 2024, Every evening, as night falls, the magic of Christmas accompanies your walk. You will discover the illuminations, the artisanal creations and many other wonders which make Rochefort-en-Terre an unmissable place during the holidays. The enchanting decorations, sparkling garlands, curtains of light and luminous trees create a magical atmosphere in the village. So, meet from 17h30 each evening. Lights will be turned off at 22h30 Monday to Thursday and Sunday. On Friday and Saturday, you can enjoy the illuminations until 23h.

And of course great local food recommended tried over the years here, Our most favorite is the Créperie Le Café Breton ! And for goodies go as today to the Le Rocher Fleuri for the best pain d’épices around and other goodies like the mustard of Pommard/Meaux and chocolates ! You can, also, visit the Church of Notre Dame de la Tronchaye, NAIA museum, and the castle (see posts) just awesome , recommended to all to stop by indeed. Enjoy it as we do.

To enjoy the Magic of Christmas in Rochefort-en-Terre, choose ,if you can, a visit during the week. We came on Monday and it was great for walking and parking. On Saturday, Sunday and during school holidays, come a little early to make parking easier.

There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
