Well, well, do not know how I have forgot to mention this monument again , if only briefly in previous posts, it really deserves a post of its own, I found me older new pictures to the blog and therefore, will do a post on the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) in Curitiba, As said, had the opportunity to lived in Curitiba back in 2008 for 3 months, and it was superb! I have several posts on the city, Therefore, let me tell you about the Federal University of Paranà in Curitiba !, Hope you enjoy the post as I.

The Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) is the oldest educational institution with a university concept in Brazil, founded on December 19, 1912, initially under the name of University of Paraná ; and began its activities in 1913, in an old building on Rua Comendador Araújo, home of the herbalist Manoel Miró ,Its a private higher education institution, Currently, the university’s facilities are distributed among the various campuses in Curitiba and other cities in Paraná.State, In 1954 the building began to occupy an entire block, between Praça Santos Andrade, Rua XV de Novembro, Rua Presidente Faria and Travessa Alfredo Bufren. The last modifications were made, after so many expansions a new facade with many columns and a wide staircase was designed and the covered dome was removed. The inauguration of the 17000 sq meters building in neoclassical style took place in 1955.

There you go folks , a very nice monument indeed. I had many opportunities to walked City center a lot as speak the local language and enjoy mingling with the people in a friendly typical Brazilian way. The Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) is a famous university in Brazil and the Americas to say the least, in addition to great architecture, worth the detour, me think, just another wonderful memory, always in my heart. There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting. Moving average a home every 5.5 years hopefully this will be my last. Cheers All rights reserved.
