The Passeio Publico or sort of Public Promenade is the first park in Curitiba from 1886, with around 70 thousand m² of natural forest, on the banks of the Belém River.

You see and enjoy here fauna such as thrush, woodpecker, and canary, collared bird, cowbird, woodpecker, tanager, pigeon, sandhill and white heron, Flora such as Oak, cypress, paineira, rosewood, plane tree, yellow ipê, cinnamon and eucalyptus. The facilities include a digital bandstand, Aviary, 3 lakes, honey garden, suspension bridge, deck, floating stage, playground adapted for children with special needs, walking track, cycle path, toilets; pet space, and playpets.

At the time of opening, its lighting was provided by lamps powered by fish oil, In the 19C, it was for some time the Botanical Garden of Curitiba. It was also the first zoo and, to this day, it has some animals in captivity, as well as an aquarium.
The Passeio Público is an ecological sanctuary in the center of Curitiba. It is located between the streets Presidente Carlos Cavalcante, Presidente Faria and Av. João Gualberto.

There you go folks , a very nice park good for the whole family and where the whole city of Curitiba meets. I had many opportunities to walked City center a lot as speak the local language and enjoy mingling with the people in a friendly typical Brazilian way.
