And indeed my boys convince me to be back. After so many trips to Walt Disney and Disneyland Paris, we were back. It was a special trip as the boys wanted to celebrate the birthday of my twin sons, We were back sadly this time just my 3 boys , myself and our dog Rex, we have lost 3, This time it seems we had more time and saw more attractions, it was magical indeed ! As their schedule goes we went finally into the parks ! Therefore, let me tell you about Main Street at Disneyland Paris, part I !!! Hope you enjoy it as we !!!
And we got to our parking each day A4 A6 A8 and B11 spots and the walk towards the entrance to Disneyland Paris along a covered hall leading to security gates and then another gates for the passes, we had the Magic Pass ! Includes the hotel (see post) and the admission to the parks,Very convenience way to purchase a package or forfait.
As soon as you enter, take the avenue teeming with adorable shops, restaurants and other secrets: a city with the pure charm of American life in the 1900s, inspired by Walt Disney’s childhood! At the end, Sleeping Beauty Castle stretches its blue turrets to the sky. Find one of the doors official or hidden of these two magnificent covered galleries with a wrought iron structure, lit by gas lanterns. Admire collections of works of art, period photographs, miniatures and pretty display cases, all set to jazzy music in the background. Travel up the avenue aboard a 19C horse-drawn tram, behind the wheel of an authentic Mercer, a police car, and even a limousine. From Town Square to Central Plaza, many Disney characters await you to strike a pose: look for them near the windows overflowing with magic, on the side of the covered passages. Meet at the Stroller and Wheelchair Rental Point located at Town Square Terrace, just after the entrance to the Disneyland Park, where you can rent a stroller or wheelchair for the day.

History buffs will visit the Liberty Arcade, which traces the major stages of the design and construction of the Statue of Liberty. They can also go to the Discovery Arcade, which highlights, through models, some of the most beautiful inventions of the 20C. The first enchanted kingdom discovered by the visitor who enters Disneyland Paris is Main Street USA , and it immerses you in an idealized America of the interwar period. This street steeped in history, which serves as the backdrop for the grand parade every day, has a particular charm. What surprises the visitor discovering Main Street USA is certainly the keen eye for detail. This typical boulevard of a small North American town from the 1920s in full expansion has street lamps with gas burners, names in the windows… The street exudes the joy of living and offers a nostalgic dive into a world that seems to us both distant and original, while speaking to our imagination. Covered arcades allow you to protect yourself from bad weather and stroll in front of the windows without getting wet.

The Main Street area does not have many attractions, its primary purpose is to offer a first glimpse of the magic of Disney. The horse-frawn streetcars, trams pulled by horses, allow you to travel the streets at a different pace. The sound of hooves on the cobblestones contributes to the inimitable atmosphere of Main Street U.S.A. It should be noted that Main Street U.S.A. can be made up of 3 large parts: Town Square (the entrance to the park), Mainstreet (the main street itself ) and Central Plaza (the park square at the foot of the castle). At the entrance, you can discover the City/Town Hall, above which the traditional American flag flies. For movie lovers, head to Main Street Cinema to see the famous Steamboat Willie. In fact, there are 6 Disney short films shown in this cinema per day.

Different shops will allow you to buy souvenirs from your magical stay at Disneyland Paris. I give some and then my favorites, There is the Emporium is quite simply the biggest store in the park! Young and old, girls or boys, everyone will inevitably find the item or souvenir of their dreams at the Emporium! The Boardwalk Candy Palace is the ideal store for all sweet tooths. Here, treats, sweets and candies offer an explosion of colors, scents and flavors. A real old-fashioned confectionery, which you can overindulge without moderation! The Lilly’s Boutique pays homage to Walt Disney’s wife. The portraits of the two founders are also hung on the wall. There are various articles related to interior decoration and tableware.I will add Harringtons glass porcelain store where we got our cups and glasses monogram with our names !! Main Street Motors where we get most of our clothing items and scarfs, bonnets etc,

There is plenty of places to eat here, and our favorite always is Casey’s Corner with its wonderful hot dogs, big the American way ! Of course , fries, ice cream ,and our beloved Mountain Dew sodas !! Awesome, Gibson’s Ben and Jerry ice creams, wonderful in summer of course even if open now ! Some tried in the past have been the Plaza Garden restaurant and the Victoria Home Style restaurant.

There you go folks, another dandy magical trip to Disney. It is 20 in Orlando and 5 in Paris for me, will catch up eventually. As far as me, the one here has surpassed and is better, me think. This is Disneyland parks and a wonderful place to spend extra time in your trip to the big park. Again, hope you enjoy the post on Main Street at Disneyland Paris, part I !!! as I
And remember, happy travels, good health, and many cheers to all !!!
Have the French embraced Disney yet? I went there in 2003 and they hated it.
I summed up my day like this…
“I enjoyed Disneyland Paris but having been to the real thing in the USA I have to say that my final assessment is that there is something missing. It doesn’t have the soul of Disney and feels like a very good theme park rather than the real Disney experience. It is expensive, the staff are slow and lack enthusiasm for the place and the real disappointment is that the characters are not wandering about so regularly as they are in America where they appear around nearly every corner but here they were restricted to special areas and then only for very short appearances.”

I would never go to Disneyland Paris again. Overprices, too busy, not really Disney. I would rather go to Asterix.
