Well , its been a while do not tell you about public transport and moving about in my capital City of Vannes and surroundings, Again, found me some pictures not in my blog that should be, Therefore, let me tell you again about moving about in Vannes, part II !! Hope you enjoy the post as I.
For reference, Vannes is the prefecture or main govt city in my beautiful Morbihan, sort of like the capital of a province or state. It is a sprawling active city with folks from all over including tourists ! I go every week and sometimes more, we said by now we know it better than our own town !!! Let me tell you a bit about its transportation choices,
You can reach it by road ,from Paris take the A13 or A11 and follow directions Caen ,Rennes ,Lorient, Vannes or Chartres,Le Mans, Laval, Rennes, Lorient, Vannes. The city parkings are those handle by the city of Vannes, needless to tell you I have tried them all but the ones used the most are the Indigo at Place de la République ,and QPARK Centre or Le Port, There is ,also, free parking facing the ramparts on rue Francis Decker. Main roads are Ave Georges Pompidou, (D767) ,Rue Sainte Anne (D779) ,Avenue de la Marne ,Rue du Guernehue (D127) ,also, from my side D101E/ D101 entering Vannes on the Route de la Côte du Vincin.

The Place de la Liberation square forms a quadrilateral halfway between the historic center and the Madeleine district of Vannes. This is a major transports hub and parking we used.

The Place de la République square is home to several public buildings and the central Vannes public transport interchange. It is one of the largest public places in Vannes; crossed by rue Thiers, which leads from the city/town hall. My boys waiting on left !!!

You can make it by train direct from Paris Montparnasse or even Roissy CDG with less frequency. Also, changing train you can go all the way to Disneyland Paris , I have done it several times to Montparnasse and once to take my dear late Dad Elio to Roissy CDG, For ticketing and information seeSNCF Voyageurs 7 place de la Gare also boutiques Galerie commerciale Carrefour and Boutique SNCF Centre at 5 place du Poids Public in old town. The Vannes train station for certain working period was my getaway to Paris every month .Also, parking plenty and behind the station by Rue de Strasbourg which I used nicely The gare or train station handle TGV, TER Bretagne and TER Pays de la Loire trains.

For local transport by bus, the Vannes bus system is pretty good for a country service, sometimes to outlaying cities the service is minimum but inside the city the service is very good. It has 29 bus lines with 16 city buses and 13 intercity lines I have used lines 5 and 8.. The Kicéo bus network : https://www.kiceo.fr/
There is a local department network handle by Keolis, and schedule info at Mobibreizh, My boys have taken line 5 Baud-Vannes ,line 1 from Auray train station to the beaches, and line 17 from Baud to Lorient. You can transfer with same ticket to another line mobibreizh within 2 hours for the same price.. There are a total of 18 bus lines within the Morbihan The Mobibreizh bus network : https://www.mobibreizh.bzh/en
In the region, they have come up with the Breizhgo transports network for all modes, never use it but here for reference : https://www.breizhgo.bzh/se-deplacer-en-bretagne
There is a small airport or aérodrome Vannes-Meucon for leisure activities and private planes ,The airport can be opened on request at any time of the day or night. The Aeronautical Museum and the Espace de Vannes-Monterblanc which is located next to the airfield. Visitors will be immersed in the aeronautical adventure from 1909 to the present day as well as in the conquest of space and the first men on the moon. It is about 12 km from old town of Vannes, taking road D767 direction Locminé/Pontivy, then right on D778E passes in front Post webpage for the aviation enthusiast : https://www.vannes.aeroport.fr/aeroport-vannes/

However, I for personal/business use, you need to go to Lorient, Rennes or Nantes. I have used once Rennes, and Lorient, and numerous times Nantes,my gateway to the world, simply the best.Their webpages for reference here:
The Nantes Atlantique airport: https://www.nantes.aeroport.fr/en
The Rennes airport : https://www.rennes.aeroport.fr/en
The Lorient airport : https://www.lorient.aeroport.fr/
There you go folks. It is a very general overview but you get the idea and if need details let me know in comments. The city of Vannes is very much walkable for the main sights but some needs a good bus ride. Again, hope you enjoy this post on moving about in Vannes, part II as I.
And remember, happy travels, good health, and many cheers to all !!!
