We come by here always, we eat here , enjoy it here ,ride boats here, and do shopping galore on many items yet I need to tell you more, I have found me some older pictures not yet in my blog and they should , me think, After all as said, my blog is my life’s history !!! We came here early on when we had our wonderful loving dog Rex a couple times, We have since use another outfit (see posts) but this one remains a memorable spot which we come for other duties often in Vannes, The Animalis Pet Shop is a brand entirely dedicated to breeding and fantasy animals. We go a lot more to Castorama and this time was no exception, This is the home and garden accessories store here (for those US it is like a Home Depot), Castorama is a DIY, decoration and home improvement distribution company, which has become a subsidiary of the British company Kingfisher since 2002. The brand is one of the main players in the sector. The bit of story tell us that in 1961, founder Christian Dubois (1921-2005), French businessmen, opened a tool trading store in Lille, with a surface area of 250 m², called “Central Panneaux”. In 1969, he inaugurated his first warehouse store in Englos, in the western suburbs of Lille. Covering 5,000 m2, this point of sale brings together hardware, electricity, wood, drugstore, wallpaper and materials departments under the name “Central Castor”. A name which refers to the nickname “beavers”, given at the time to those who built their own houses. Less than a year later, Christian Dubois had to change the name of his brand because of a competitor : “Central Castor” then becomes “Castorama”. In 2022, the Castorama brand had 92 points of sale in France as well as 3 local “Casto”. The Kingfisher group has more than 1,500 points of sale in Spain, Portugal, United Kingdom, Poland, Romania and Turkey,

We have come here and elsewhere on the steakhouse chain Hippopotamus, its been a while but still around there a lot and we do will be back eventually, This is a chain of meat restaurants established in 1968; mainly present in France, it belongs to the Flo group, majority owned by the Bertrand group , The bit of story here is that Christian Guignard launches a first grill restaurant not far from the Avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris where a rib of beef, presented on a thick wooden board, is to be cut with a very sharp knife; the meat is accompanied by matchstick fries. In 1992, the Flo Group, led by Jean-Paul Bucher, purchases the entire capital of Hippopotamus, but decide to concentrate in up gamme and in 2017 goes Hippopotamus to the Bertrand Group, (holders of many hospitality outfits)
