Curiosities of Plougastel-Daoulas, part II !!!

The town of Plougastel-Daoulas.has lots of memories for us and even family birthdays celebrated there, Several posts in my blog, but need to tell you more as new older pictures not yet in my blog were found, The town of Plougastel-Daoulas is in the dept 29 of Finistère in my lovely region of Bretagne. I like to tell you about these new pictures in my curiosities of Plougastel-Daoulas, part II !!! Hope you enjoy it as I.

 There is a beautiful panorama de kernisi  and a great lookout point into the bay of Brest and the boats!!! Gorgeous views walking along a path facing the harbor of Brest across water, wooded area and hilly, stony; good shoes and good health a must. The wonders of my Bretagne! And yes I even walked here !!

Right in the place de l’église and to the side of the above church you see the fountain of the imagery or Fontaine de l’Imageur. This fountain is indeed rich in symbols, evocative of the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela(St James/St Jacques).  However, beyond the symbols carved in granite and bronze for any other reason, the story of this fountain tells of Saint James in several ways rendering honor to those artists, painters, sculpteurs who built these calvaries, retables etc.

The location of the Bistrot de Plougastel restaurant was at 1 Place du Calvaire , This is, where we spent many trips and a couple birthdays for my boys over the years and they love it, Unfortunately ,they closed, here for the memories of always in my blog, For desserts we just walked around the church to the Boulangerie/Pâtesserie/Salon de Thé Mulliner on 5 Rue de l’Église. Under new management since 2022, but the old here for the memories of always, Here we had several sweets and sodas, such as belle hélene, trois chocolates, etc Recognise as the best in Plougastel-Daoulas.My boys and dear Martine in front !! And on the bistro as well !!

My background comes all the way from Candelaria and Pajara in Tenerife, Spain where my grandparents came from ;not knowing each other then, to Punta Brava, west of Havana, Cuba. There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
