Curiosities of Carantec !!!

And I am back to tell you more about Carantec in the department of Finistère no 29 of my lovely region of Bretagne in my belle France. This is another post as found me again some pictures not in my blog and they should, me think, So many wonders in my Brittany, and this one is one of them, only 156 km (about 97 miles) from my house. Let me tell you about the curiosities of Carantec !!!, Hope you enjoy it as I.

I told you about the impressive Church Saint Carantec! This is a must to see here.  The Church Saint-Carantec is in neo-Gothic style. It was built on the site of the old 16C church, The current church  was built in 1867. External length 37 meters. ; interior length 31 meters, width of the nave and side aisles 14 meters; length of the transept 24 meters; the choir is 9 meters long, 6 meters wide. The bell tower is 37 meters high, Nice !

Moving over to the beaches, plenty and pretty indeed, The plage du Kélenn beach is certainly the most famous of the Carantec beaches. The one that enjoys the maximum of entertainment in season with its restaurants, its beach club and its nautical center. This large and beautiful beach is ideal for families. Lovely indeed ! pic from pier beach left side.then beach to castle and isles.

And no need to dip on the water but you can , Drive , walk, bike the low tide passage to Callot island !! A wonderful sublime experience ! The island, accessible from the mainland by a submersible causeway which allows you to cross the passe aux moutons or sheeps pass, extends over 2 125 meters long and measures from 150 to 300 meters wide. Access to the island , at the port, check the crossing times before taking the submersible route that takes you to Île Callot. Awesome indeed !

And ,of course, we had lunch ! As usual by magic I found a good one again! The Créperie Ty Brizec is an institution in Carantec since the creperie, opened in 1919, (Ty Breizh) is briskly approaching its centenary. We arrived without reservation and were quickly sitted by a funny owner! We shall be back ,eventually.

There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
