This is part of my new road warrior trips in my lovely Bretagne , where else !!!.. I have been here before ,see posts, This time saw a bit more on the marvels of Rohan, in my beautiful Morbihan and my lovely Bretagne in my belle France, Therefore let me tell you more of the Church of Saint Gobrien of Rohan !! Hope you enjoy the post as I.

The town of Rohan is located 98 km from Rennes, 72 km from Lorient, 53 km from Vannes and, 51 km from my house, It is on the old lordship of the Rohan dukes of Brittany. I have written on this church before in my blog, this is another visit worth the detour for the architecture and history in it.
The Saint-Gobrien Church, dedicated to Saint-Gobrien, dates from the end of the 19C. It is a modern church, in the Gothic style, built in 1897 to replace the old chapel of Saint-Gobrien which became the parish church in 1653, restored and enlarged many times and finally demolished. The present church was blessed and opened for worship on April 29, 1897.

The stained glass window of the Choir on the left side dates from 1912 ,it shows the local praying to the Virgin and the Child see in the back the Chapel Saint Martin de Rohan. Saint Gobrien was a Breton Saint born in the 7C near Vannes, After miraculous actions he was named Bishop of Vannes At the end of his life he retired to Saint Servant sur Oust about 30 km from Rohan, where he is buried in the church,

The Saint Gobrien Church portico is topped with a sculpted tympanum. The choir is lit by two windows, one of which represents Saint Gobrien. The stained glass windows of the transept and the nave are from 1914. The carved wooden high altar in the ogival style is a gift from the monks of Timadeuc.
