Curiosities of Plemet !!!

This is part of my new road warrior trips in my lovely Bretagne , where else !!!.. I have written another post on a nostalgic business trip and later family, however, several years not back and in my new life decided to take my boys and dog and for a ride ; magical !! This time saw a bit more as always there is a next time lol ! Therefore let me tell you about the curiosities of Plémet !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I

Plémet is located in the department 22 of Côtes-d’Armor in the lovely region of Bretagne, and in my belle France.  It takes its name from Saint Démet, of Welsh origin and having lived in the Brest region. The name of the town is Pllémé in Gallo, Plezeved in Breton local languages. It is 55 km from Saint Brieuc 79 km from Rennes, 92 km from Lorient ,and 69 km from my house! 

The Musée Artcolle museum dedicated to the art of collage and assemblage which is one of the rare museums in the world to present a collection entirely devoted to this artistic movement: It exhibits more than two hundred works by international collage artists. Through cut, crumpled and torn papers; through composite materials and digital manipulations, this exhibition will allow visitors to appreciate both the plurality and the modernity of the art of collage, now a century old. In Europe, a unique museum of its kind where you can discover the art of collage through an extract from the Artcolle collection presenting the great masters of this art: Jiří Kolář, Bernard Mandeville, Jacques Villeglé, Fitzia, Ivan Coaquett and, Gérard Siémons. etc. as artists from twenty-three nations.  “The art that challenges painting” according to Louis Aragon .The Artcolle Museum is located  at 1 Place du Général de Gaulle, in the city’s former City/town hall.

This is the famous moment we had in company meeting dinner and came here with a memorable anecdote see post, I came back nearby in town so decided to give a look again for the memories of always, It has change but better ! Fabrice Vallée originally from Yvelines (78) with his wife Éloïse originally from Manche (50) are the new owners. The chef was notably the second to Philippe Etchebest, also a Top Chef jury !! The Le Saint Antoine is both a restaurant offering you quality French cuisine in a warm atmosphere, but also a shop, offering you a real local service, you will find other charcuterie, catering, fresh fish and a delicatessen offering only fresh and local products.

There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting. Moving average a home every 5.5 years hopefully this will be my last. Cheers All rights reserved.
