And as we were in our local road warrior mode came back to visit our modern City of Lorient ,which should be known more. The city of Lorient is turn towards the sea and boating and plenty of sea related museums (see posts) , However, even in this short 35 minute ride from home we needed to eat and just pick one from sight, voilà another find , we will be back to the La Baleine Déshydratée of Lorient, Also, for info they are in Quimper and Saint Nazaire as well, Therefore, let me tell you our experience here , Hope you enjoy it as I.

The La Baleine Déshydratée or The Dehydrated Whale is anchored in La Base area of museums of Lorient, and more precisely within the walls of the Cité de la Voile. You credit a magnetic card and use it every time you want to taste a new beer, a new soft drink or even a glass of wine ! feel free to taste, you are only charged by the centilitre ! At noon, you can also make a stopover for lunch . All the beers of the restaurant are artisanal, mostly “made in Breizh” (breton for Brittany), and you are spoiled for choice: 41 beaks are at your disposal in self-service ! Awesome , need to be back !!

On the catering side, all day to accompany your drink, you are offered Breizhflams to enjoy with others, desserts and nibbles. From 17h and at dinner time, a “pub” type catering is offered to you in addition, with “fat fries” (Breton version of poutine). At lunchtime, we offer you a wide menu of flamenküches, burgers, salads, as well as the famous dish of the day. We did lunch with Marcos burgers, tiramisu, and rose wine from the Herault by the bottle ! All of this highlights typical Lorient products!

The La Baleine Déhydratee is above all a connected bar. One card, one account, and you are ready to become tasting experts! Help yourself to the centilitre, and discover the wonderful world of craft beer. In a modern, friendly and relaxed atmosphere, it is a delightsful concept ! The card process is go and create and credit a card with your bartender, Help yourself directly to the connected tables on the wall. Don’t hesitate, you are debited to the nearest centiliter.

Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
