Let me tell you again as we were by there more of these wonderful ports of Lorient, part II !!, Hope you enjoy it as I,
Sunny day not cold not hot so off I went into my local road warrior mode and re visited Lorient, I stop first by the today quiet Port de Commerce or commercial port of Lorient, The commercial port of Lorient located by 3 Bd de la Rade, The oldest of the ports of Lorient, created in 1666 by Colbert, The activity of the Commercial port is dominated by 3 major traffics, petroleum products, agri-food raw materials and miscellaneous/bulk construction goods. A traffic of 2.5 million tons passes through it each year, which places it in 2nd place among the commercial ports of the Brittany region.

Its activities are mainly oriented towards the importation, mainly of hydrocarbons, agrifood products and construction materials. It is also occasionally used for the transport of passengers and by military ships in connection with the Lorient arsenal. These are the 150 meters quay , which accommodates reefer ships, ships with conventional cargo and liners, The 656 meters multipurpose quay, made up of 8 different structures , which accommodates ships transporting mostly bulk for animal feed, and at its northern end multipurpose trafic, The 125 meters oil station , which can accommodate vessels of up to 50,000 tonnes, The Ro-ro station for accommodating ro-ro ships, The 100 meters Rohu unloading dock receiving hourglass ships. The place is huge !!!
