And of course, in my new road warrior trip into pretty Josselin, and its marvelous monuments ,visiting the castle needed to pay a brief visit to the nice Chapelle de la Congregation , Also, known but less under the Chapelle de Bénédictins , Therefore, here is my new take with new pictures on the former Chapelle de la Congregation of Josselin, part II !!  Hope you enjoy the post as I,

The Chapelle de la Congregation has a weird destiny after been built in 1702 , the bishop refuses to consecrated, and it was later used as a cereal depot until 1805. Later, it held public hearings and meetings, then a classroom, and finally a place of exhibitions and works of arts exhibitions as today. The Chapel of the Congregation, inaugurated in January 2020 after a high-quality renovation particularly focused on hosting artistic events, has become the setting for quality artistic and cultural programming today,

The Chapelle de la Congrégation as it is better known is on the park of the Château des Rohan/Josselin ,(see post) at the place de la Congrégation. The story goes that the Congregation of the Mission, founded in 1625 in Paris by Saint Vincent de Paul , is made up of members, brothers or priests, called Lazarists. You can see a painting the “Martyrdom of Saint John” painted in 1763 representing the torture of Saint John the Evangelist in Rome. Pulled by a rope before being thrown into a cauldron filled with boiling oil.   At the time of its construction, the bishop of Saint-Malo was in conflict with the Congregationalists. He did not approve that this chapel was not attached to the parish of Josselin. So he refused to consecrate it. The oral tradition reports that it was on this square that the miraculous statue of Notre-Dame du Roncier was burned during the French revolution. However, a fragment was saved from the blaze by a pious woman. It is now kept in the Basilica Notre Dame du Roncier (see post).

There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
