I am taking you to a popular town, one we have visited several times, I do have several posts on it in my blog. In my road warrior mode went out with the boys and Rex for a tour and memories of always as my dear late wife Martine absolutely love it, Therefore, let me tell you more on Rochefort en Terre !!. The town is in my beautiful Morbihan dept 56 of my lovely region of Bretagne. Hope you enjoy the post as I.
The fairy tale wonderful cosy gorgeous medieval Rochefort en Terre is absolutely sublime to walk its cobblestone streets and wonderful old world architecture, We live one hour from it. Entering we passed by the Hortense library and gîte just passing this time.

We came straight to the parking out back Place Saint Michel , and did our walking from it. Walking into City center we passed the wonderful Place des Halles where the marie or mayor’s office is located as well as the tourist office and a bit building with several nice stores sort of a gallery,

We continue into the Rue Saint Michel, passing by our favorite hangout the Café Breton!! love it!!! Built in 1544, this listed granite house has been said to have been a bar since 1818, making it, if it is true, one of the oldest cafes in Europe. A legend well maintained by the exceptional decor of this charming crêperie whose walls bear magnificent frescoes created by the providential man of Rochefort-en-Terre, the American painter Alfred Klotz (who owned the castle see post).

We did indulge in the Le Rocher Fleurie in our fav pain d’épices choco/orange and Raisin/rum cake to take home , delicious:You should try it, webpage : https://en.rochefortenterre-tourisme.bzh/offers/le-rucher-fleuri-rochefort-en-terre-en-3460945/

You come into more wonderful old architecture in the Place du Puits with a nice fountain and many colorful stores that keeps this middle ages ambiance and look , Finally, at the end of the walk we came to another of our favorites here and a nice decor, in its alley the Christmas market is created with a nativity set each year, This is the Bougie Marie or candle store at corner of Ruelle du Château and rue des Scourtets.
