Quiberon, and the sea !!!

Once again to one of my favorite spots in my beautiful Morbihan dept 56 of my lovely Bretagne and in my belle France, I have several posts on Quiberon of course, this is one of my latest rounds to it this week, Well this is by far the best area that I have seen in my area. The Quiberon is actually a presqu’Île (peninsula)  jetting out from mainland  France into the Atlantic ocean , This is a sublime spot visited by all, locals and especially Europeans at Summer’s season, A must to visit while in the area or even coming to it alone, Let me tell you again about my favorite town at the tip of the peninsula of Quiberon, or Quiberon, and the sea !!! The Grande Plage or big beach is it here, loaded and fun !! The main entrance is by the Place Hoche , wonderful, just go in and out secure and with all amenities. The  beach is is 900 meters of fine sand! This beach, in the heart of the resort, is accessible to all and has a parking for bicycles, a carpet and an armchair hipocampe for people with reduced mobility. In summer it offers a kids’ club and a beach bar. For your safety this beach is supervised in the summer and has a first aid station. Showers and toilets All along it you have the wonderful boulevard Chanard . We do enjoy the Grande plage each time in town and plenty of them , the center of it all here. This our favorite as it comes with easy parking, great eating/drinking places and very nice people watch !!! You have a wonderful excuse to walk, along the Grande Plage to  Port Maria  , where the docks for the ferries are to visit the nearby islands, on the so call Promenade de la Plage

The Gare Maritime is at one end with ferries to the out islands such as Belle Île en Mer.  It is bounded by the port of Port-Maria fishing port, and the Grande Plage beach. See trawlers in clouds of gulls. Along an esplanade around the beach at the foot of buildings from the Belle Epoque. There are many bars and restaurants with lively terraces as well as ice cream parlors. We love it !! From the gare maritime you can cruise to the islands of Arz, Houat, Hoëdic, and the biggest Belle-ïle ,Here you will land at Le Palais, the small capital of Belle ïle which is serve year around. Sublime trip !!!

The Port de Quiberon as well as the pleasure marina are very nice areas loaded with quant seafood and breton food restaurants facing the sea. A wonderful feeling indeed. For a boy who grew up in a shrimp fisherman harbor and been around the world ,this is nostalgia at its  best and it feels nice. And do not forget the fisherman depot where the local fish catch comes in every morning and you get all fresh right there, the Cooperative Maritime Du Sud Morbihan at 2 Quai d’Houat. A place of getaway to change your mind. Small very family port with all the shops and craftsmen in a few meters. The unmissable port of Quiberon

There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
