I came back to check out one of our favorite hangouts here, Carnac. On Carnac ,plenty written on it in my blog, this is some interesting pictures feel need to be in my blog for the complete look, Therefore, here is the curiosities of Carnac, part II !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.
Briefly, the town of Carnac is indeed two. There is Carnac bourg or city center inland (pics from here) ,and there is Carnac plage or beach, along the ocean where the beaches are of course. Both are about 2 km away. Oh yes this is south of me about 30 minutes in my beautiful Morbihan dept 56 of my lovely Bretagne and in my belle France!
The other is an old timer used to be called Cozy restaurant , it was the first place I ate here back in 2011!!. Well , as we can’t keep up with the choices and changes around here lol! They have changes again and new name not tested yet call Les Caprices d’Anaïs. Hélas, as I stop by today again, there is a newer restaurant here must be a hot corner for turnarounds, it is call the Brasserie de La Dame Caro, again not tested yet, Memories forever on the spot !

We found easy parking at the place de la Chapelle on the other side from the Pre History museum (see posts) for free, We took a quick tour of the tourist office as I think it is always essential no matter how many times you come to a place. There are always changes and we notice. The hours are Monday to Saturday 9h30 to 12h30 and 14h to 18h on Sundays opens from 10h to 13h.

At the place de la Chapelle square you have the City hall of Carnac, Maison de la Presse for books, mags etc, and the nice La Marine hotel resto, the pre history museum , and several nice boutiques for a shopper’s paradise spot,

The Avenue Miln is the top street for shopping here and close to the Grande Plage/beach, Even is some businesses have change, it is still the one to come for all your souvenirs and shopping needs , Today, Avenue Miln is the main avenue of the seaside town, This street is name after a famous citizen, a bit on him, James Miln, archaeologist and historian accompanied by Zachari le Rouzic excavated the station between 1877 and 1881 and are at the origin of the great archaeological discoveries of Carnac. James Miln de Woodhill traveled the world before settling in Carnac. Passionate about antiquities, he intends to compare the megaliths of Carnac to those of his native Scotland , A year after his death, his brother Robert Miln had the Museum built and donated the building and the collections to the City of Carnac , What is today the Pre History Museum (see post).

Another bit of change a while back we used to come more often to Memes Tra across from the Grande Plage /beach, Then it change name to Lulu à la plage brasserie, good we missed the ambiance of the first one ;but the food still good , and very close to the shopping area on Avenue Miln . For a great ice cream go to L’Igloo , 56 avenue des Druides just a block from the Grande Plage or big beach, superb , our family would come here just for that! And again we came especially for that with 3 o 4 scoops of different flavors ice cream some unique here such as cottton candy, and smurfs , No web, the RestaurantGuru reviews on it: https://fr.restaurantguru.com/Ligloo-Carnac

For a quick coffee, the lotto tickets, magazines, newspaper, and the must stamps,to get that postcard back home we visit it especially for the lottery and newspaper at this friendly Bar Tabac Le Marigny, very close to the Grande plage/beach as well. No web, the RestaurantGuru reviews on it :https://restaurantguru.com/La-Marigny-Carnac
The Fisher Club is right on the sand of the Grande Plage/beach,wonderful to spend a day there. We had some drinks here while looking at the beach and its attractions, All dressed in wood and white, is a refreshing bath that comes alive all day long… You can peacefully have your coffee there in the morning, have lunch on the go and then comes the sacred hour of aperitif! Fresh Champagne wines, and tapas are timely The official Le Fisher Club, see Carnac : https://www.lefisher.fr/bar-plage-carnac-quiberon/

Luna Park Burger at 29 Avenue Miln. We used to come here when more of a game room, it has kept some of this but not more gear to pub me think, It has a video game room and cyber café, The games continue to the side of the bar with plenty of ambiance and entertainment from hockey, ski, and danse games . The food is plenty and great seafood still at Le Kreiz , it was with a bit different name when we first visited, Kreiz An Avel, at 1 ave de la Chapelle across from plage de Saint Colomban beach, Great spot indeed, No web, the restaurantguru reviews on it: https://fr.restaurantguru.com/Kreiz-An-Avel-Carnac
