If you have been reading my blog and thank you for it doing it since Nov 2010; then you know my sentimental attachment to Honfleur. A city gear to the ocean and fishing and the Calvados dept 14 of Normandy, I have several posts on it in my blog and they are all special to me. I had to go there again for a personal duty that I had to do, put the ashes of my father at sea as were my mother and wife, Let me tell you about the plage de Butin of Honfleur, part II !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.
However, worth to tell you this is a town towards the ocean of great sailors. In 1503, Paulmier de Gonneville ventured to Brazil. A century later, explorer Samuel Champlain left the Norman port for Canada where he founded the city of Québec. Honfleur is very international, and the second most visited site in Normandie behind just MSM !!!
A small town by the coast ,but pack heavy of things to do here ; this is my nostalgic Honfleur. I have touch briefly on the plage de Butin and its phare or lighthouse, but let me tell you a bit more ok

The plage de Butin beach has all the equipment to welcome you comfortably and safely during the summer season: free parking nearby, showers, cabins, equipment rental , and a play area for children. From April to October, the beach also hosts a catering hut and inflatable play areas.
Free parking nearby, showers, cabins, equipment rental, nautical activities offered by the sailing school, and playground for children , Not to mention the lifeguard station, as well as “La Cabane du Butin”, organic catering and drinks from April to October, Please note that the swimming part and the beach are only allowed to dogs before 8h and after 20h, and you must keep him on a leash outside of this period, however the whole part to the left in the direction of Vasouy is free to access!
From Honfleur city center you must take the direction of Naturospace (boulevard Charles V) on the road D513 for about 1.5 kms. There is free parking on the left at the Butin lighthouse, can’t missed it, It can be done on bike/foot too for the trained and willing.

There you go folks, short and sassy as the saying goes. Just another alternative coming to Honfleur with small children; should be fun. Overlooking across the harbor the port 2000 of Le Havre ! Again, hope you enjoy the post on the Plage de Butin of Honfleur, part II as I
And remember, happy travels, good healh, and many cheers to all !!!

My background comes all the way from Candelaria and Pajara in Tenerife, Spain where my grandparents came from ;not knowing each other then, to Punta Brava, west of Havana, Cuba. There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
Moving average a home every 5.5 years hopefully this will be my last. Cheers
