Columbus Café of Vannes !!!

We have come here for many years , do not recall exactly but must have been since 2015 or 2016 and enjoy it very much. One of the places the whole family took part for lunches while sightseeing or shopping in our capital city of Vannes. Needless to tell you again, many posts on this city. However, briefly mentioned the resto and is time to showcase it in one post with our visit of yesterday. Therefore, here is my small contribution to Columbus Café of Vannes !!! Vannes is a charming city and this Columbus Café is a very pleasant point for a gourmet break in this pearl of Brittany. We find the products of good quality. Decent value for money. Super cordial waiters and waitresses. Always a pleasure to go there The muffins are delicious!! and our favorites bagels to die for it especially so far from where we tried them first in NJ/NY! Unfortunately my pastramis bagel is on and off as sometimes not available, so I settled for a serrano ham, honey and goat cheese with muffin choco praliné, icea tea peach and expresso coffee , the works. Nice deal in a lovely part of Vannes! The restaurant has two entrances on the same side, one is the main one that goes directly to the counter for your orders with a friendly knowledable staff. They are scatted seats in sets of two or four persons, with those in the back by the restroom more cosy and bar style small round tables and bucket seats, great for families or romantic getaway! You leave the trays on the table or the staff comes to pick them up for you. We love the concept implementing some aspects of the anglo-saxon gastronomy while adapting it to the French flair of the kitchen. This is in essence why we love it ,and do come often here at Columbus Café. Needless to tell you tucked in medieval nice rue du Mené adds to the ambiance.

The Columbus Café is located at 11 rue du Mené, open since 2014 on a surface of 125 m². The restaurant has more than 65 seats inside and a dozen more on the terrace. open Monday to Friday from 7h45 to 19h, and Saturday from 9h to 19h.

My background comes all the way from Candelaria and Pajara in Tenerife, Spain where my grandparents came from ;not knowing each other then, to Punta Brava, west of Havana, Cuba. There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
