The Gare de Meaux !!

Now I cannot believe not included this spot in my blog yet! OF course, I used it a couple of times but a very memorable spot for me. I have several posts on the city of Meaux in Seine et Marne dept 77 of the Ïle de France region of my belle France!!! This is the native town of my dear late wife Martine. I first came to the city believe or not taking a bus from Roissypôle in Roissy CDG airport, and then used the train couple time for Paris Est or Gare de l’Est in Paris as it was the route of my wife to work before marriage. Memories of always, that I am very happy to share with you all now. Picture arriving Meaux on the A140/N330 road!

The Gare de Meaux train station (see post) at Place de la Gare, This was as well my first ride on a train in France going from Meaux to Gare de l’Est in Paris to visit her employer in the 10éme arrondissement of Paris, This station is served by trains on three axes:  Paris-Est (gare de l’est) – Château-Thierry: direct trains between Paris and  Meaux, then omnibus to Château-Thierry; Paris-Est – Meaux: direct trains from Paris to Chelles then omnibus to Meaux; and  Meaux – La Ferté-Milon: omnibus trains, for some trains having a point of departure or arrival at the Paris-Est station (they are then direct between Paris and Meaux). These three axes are part of the northern branch of the P line of the Transilien (Paris-Est network). You can take the trains from Paris Est or Gare de l’Est to Meaux (Direction Château-Thierry) about 25 min, and to Meaux (Direction Meaux) about 40 min,

I am presenting you with Meaux, a historical town east of Paris , near Disneyland Paris (best lodging deal), and the Champagne region, but most importantly the fields of war of the Great War or WWI and its  wonderful Gothic Cathedral , one of the best in France.

The Meaux train station represents an important hub for connections, with the proximity of the bus station, opposite the passenger building of the station. Buses are parked for the ascent of travelers along platforms, numbered from A to R, while the descent is in front of the passenger building for direct access to the train. The station also has a bicycle park, and car parks are set up in its surroundings. Ultimately, it is planned that the Meaux train station will become the terminus of line RER E , replacing the current Paris – Meaux link via Chelles. This will allow the city of Meaux to have easy access to Paris, at the heart of the Magenta and Haussmann – Saint-Lazare hubs.Nice going indeed.Below 2011 picture and then a 2021 picture.

In all, always memorable moments that stayed with you no matter what, time does not diminished the sadness of not having my dear late wife Martine who introduce me to this train line going to her job in Paris arriving at gare de l’est from Meaux. Hope you enjoy the post and do visit this city of Meaux now a great inexpensive alternative to Disneyland. Thanks for reading me over these years.  See my other posts on Meaux.  Enjoy Meaux , the Meldois of the east of Parisi !!

And remember, happy travels, good health, and many cheers to all !!!
