So, decided to update this older post of a nice one two punch in my beautiful Morbihan, in my lovely Bratagne. Therefore, here is my story, hope you like it. We had to do our normal errands of a family in France but took a side step to another area which even if very close do not recall visited before. Therefore, this is my take on a wonderful Séné and my Vannes !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.
We went to the Saturday morning market in Vannes, just wonderful, where we buy the essential, cheeses, eggs, fruits and vegetables, take out food ,wines etc It is open until 13h (1pm) but we like to go by the end and get better prices ….During the week there is a covered market at pl des Lices where you can buy too but not as good as the morning market in my opinion. See posts.
We went to a new area and toook a charming ride and walk around the harbor, This is the wonderful bay in the Port Anna in the town of Séné. This is what makes this area so nice, so many of these beautiful places to spent a day. The boats on the harbor and the sea road into the La Marle river into the Atlantic ocean passing on one side the Conleau peninsula and on the other side Arradon, and the islands of Boêdic across and further out Arz island . This river ocean La Marle takes you in to the canal and harbor of Vannes and right into city center! Just gorgeous!!!
As my boys became older, the need to have a dog grew , but my dear late wife Martine wanted none of it. Finally, we convince her as the boys also wanted a dog. She was very enthusiastic once the decision taken, and was the first one to go and buy him a bed ,and ball toys etc. We visited the first store open in our area ,Maxi Zoo of Séné, first, Later they opened in Vannes, and lastly at Auray. The closest store to us is in Auray but we go according to where we are and the needs to buy so visit all three often. A bit more on Maxi Zoo, It is part of the group Fressnapf Tiernahrungs GmbH a German franchise company for pet food. With over 1400 stores and 8000 employees in 12 European countries it is the largest European pet product retailer The highest number of stores is in Germany (777), followed by Austria (90) and Netherlands (52). The company is also present in Switzerland, Belgium, France, Hungary, Denmark, Poland, Luxembourg and Ireland, and Italy. (partial owner with Arcaplanet ) In many non-German speaking countries, the chain is called Maxi Zoo, with the exception of Fressnapf in Hungary.

We have ,also, patronize Chaussea there, but since closed, The closest to me now are at Auray and Vannes, A bit more on Chaussea, It is a chain of stores specializing in the sale of shoes for men, women and children. It also offers a range of accessories ranging from socks to small leather goods, all at very competitive prices. The network has 340 stores in France and around 40 spread between Belgium and Luxembourg.

The stores are in the Zone Commerciale Les Quais De Séné , or 11 rue Cousteau, since 2017 with the stores of Sport 2000, Chausséa (closed) and Maxi Zoo. Later added Croc book, Gifi, Surf shop and Au Bureau pub (eat/drink here see post) . The Les Quais de Séné shopping center aims to strengthen the attractiveness of the Poulfanc area in Séné. A true gateway to Vannes from the east The project consisted of two buildings. The first in the shape of an “L” offers seven commercial cells on the ground floor with a floor space of 240 to 2,550 m² for personal and household equipment brands. The second, smaller building offers two cells dedicated to catering. These two buildings are structured around an elevated parking lot with around 100 parking spaces, bordered by large pedestrian esplanades giving access to shops. There are 170 places available in the basement of the complex as well,
We came back to have our lunch, at one of our favorites Le Tarmac in rue Ferdinand le Dressay which is the road D199 up the hill towards Séné. We had our gourmand burgers, and great local Breton beer Duchesse Anne 6%. All this overlooking the wonderful canal harbor of Vannes, capacity for 3000 boat berth! Across the street is the harbormaster of Vannes. Oh yes the bill was 25€ per person nice. We have come back here several times.
On this day and on the way home we did our groceries for the misc things we buy here mostly personal care, and household items at our favorite E Leclerc hypermarket and the nice underground free parking. And we headed home for the rugby match France vs South Africa, too bad we had a good game but as lately in the last few minutes almost ending time this time we lost 26-29. It stayed a good effort once again.
