Curiosities of Vannes,part II !!!

Again, encore un fois, I come to you in black and white on my series of updating and revising and refreshing old post from the beginning of my blog. Things has change in many way we cannot believe, places gone, repurchase and only we kept the memories in these posts. Therefore ,here is my take on curiosities of Vannes, part II !!! Hope you enjoy it as I.

Walking around Vannes some went to the cinema and we went to eat! We walked by the St Patern district ,very old quaint nice and friendly, and had our lunch in already our favorite place Le Gavroche, 17 rue de la Fontaine.  (now sadly closed) We ate the dishes of beef with hot vegetables and potatoes, fish colin et lieu with hot vegetables and potatoes, flaky dish of goat cheese in a flaky crusty bread, a bottle of cider, expresso coffee,and of course started it all with aperitifs of kir mûre, pêche,porto. All for less than 27 euros per person.

We still had time so we walked the streets of Vannes in the district or quartier St Patern, seeing how archeological artifacts were found when renovationg the church, and the history of it, with a nice shot of the belltower. We decided to do the round of créperies and bar à nuits in town that we have been or would like to go, these include the night time bar A Tribord, 28 rue st Patern. We stop by the Irish pub Le Chat qui Grogne, 12 Place Cabello, right in a quaint area that I just like it a lot. And ,the  ramparts of the old castle of Vannes, at night time that is awesome, as well ast the gardens of the Castle of the Hermine or Chateau de l’Hermine,and last the jardins or park of the Garenne high above from the ramparts after climbing the old castle walls along rue Francis Decker.

Another that my collegues at work recommended to go and after one try closed we came back to taste and it was sublime. The Créperie Le Métairie de Kérozer, is in the countryside at nearby town of St Avé. Sadly, there is a long message to close by Christelle manager/owner. “Good evening everyone, I regret to announce the closure of the Creperie, health concerns unfortunately do not allow me to resume work. And a creperie without a crepe maker … I would like to thank all those, customers, clients, suppliers etccc who followed me and supported me in this great adventure, I would have lived very beautiful and good times with all of you !!!!  Our other establishment, the Crêperie de Keroyal in Plougoumelen, remains open.

The area of Atlanville is very nice family spot; there are about 6 restaurants,bars to choose from, some local some national brands, A center of entertainment away from the center of the city, We have been many times for football/soccer games to the Irish pub Le Skellig. In the Parc du Golfe at the entrance to the Conleau peninsula you find the Le Master bowling. Very friendly place,and very beautiful girls lol!!  The welcome was very friendly jokingly,and the prices nice. We play and I won the overall title beating my twin boys, of course, they did beat me in one game, my excuse was I need more practice as they do play in school….excuses excuses but hey, life is tough ,you do what you must do ::) There is also pool table, games, sports cafe bar with large screen TV, and just a nice secure ambiance good to be back ,I am sure; and we have.The Le Master Bowling webpage: https://www.lemasterbowling.fr/fr/bowling

We went as well to see membership information at the Vannes municipal pool or Vanocéa, at about 88€ per year for 25 entries per person is not bad. There you go folks, now I feel better with the updated links and text on another wonderful post about my beloved Vannes and surrounding areas. There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
