Curiosities of Belize, part I !!!

The trips now are long and tiring but once there, life comes alive and the beautiful views and tranquil folks makes it all worth while. I have written before on Belize but this is an updated text and photos. Here I am back in my roots area of the Americas! Always glorious to be back and see the clear seas again. Therefore, met me tell you my take on curiosities of Belize, part I !!! Hope you enjoy it as I.

Yes way down over across Belize life is beautiful. I heard a lot about it as diving and fishing and retirement place for years. I have the chance to visited it for a week, and I agree. However, it is catchy and sublime, one begin to think about why not a retirement there…. Belize.

The Michael Finnegan Market is a place where local residents come to purchase fresh produce, seafood, and handmade goods. The market is divided into different sections, each specializing in a specific type of goods. The fruit and vegetable section is a popular destination for shoppers looking for locally grown produce, while the seafood section is known for its fresh catch of the day. Handmade goods, including textiles, pottery, and jewelry, can also be found at the market. Shopping Saturdays are set aside for Open Market vending and is the most popular shopping day of the week, when farmers and fishermen from all over the country bring their fresh produce to sell at reasonable prices.


We stopped by for the great WiFi at Rose’s bar restaurant in Mango Creek (now closed), and did some groceries at Ming Supermarket  near the post office in Placencia. The best area was by Barefoot bar and we stop at the funky Tupsy Tuna bar in Placencia by the beach, great ambiance.

There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting. Moving average a home every 5.5 years hopefully this will be my last. Cheers All rights reserved.
