Most write about far away lands we visit but seldom about the one we live in, I have lived in 5 countries/ worked in 4, and citizen of 4, having visited 81 countries so far and all have an impact on my life, Needless, to say the meaning of Pluvigner is big on my family. I had written several post on our lives here but realise needed to condense several posts into one for the short and sassy look. This post will be in our culinary experiences not many as live here but do have our favorites, Therefore, here is my take on
the foodie in my Pluvigner !!! Hope you enjoy this post as I.
The Créperie du Château in the Château de Rimaison property in our beautiful Pluvigner. The lady owner always is there serving tables! This place has been sold (2022) and no longer a créperie unfortunately fyi. Here for the memories of always! Immediately , we made it a point to come here for the friendly service ,good quality/price ratio and good food not to mention the spot a rebuilt castle! right across from our bakery or boulangerie Yann et Deborah. There were implanted here from Vannes, and we will missed them,Today, we had a bottle of La Petite Brette rose of Berligou grapes from the Domaine Poiron Dabin in the town of Château Thébaut in the Loire-Atlantique dept 44,(old Brittany!) which we have visited and purchase their wines as well. The anecdote is that the great berligou was a gift of the duke of Burgundy, Charles Le Téméraire to the duke of Brittany, François II ,they were cousins! And the brothers Poiron continue to planted since 1993, and produce wines from it. The king Louis XIV made it known at the court of Versailles! In 2001, it was declared a rare grape and saved from extinction!

For the traditional cooking we always go to the Créperie le Vorlen where the previous owner Jean-Noël Barranger ( native of Meaux as my dear late wife Martine was) does wonders in the restaurant . Located at the entrance of the ring road, D768 the restaurant is the corner with the rue de la gare and route d’Auray. The recipe of Lili Kerzerho always a la carte with Rost er Forn (wood oven roasted pig portions with bake potatoes and herbs) an institution. The first and third weekends of each month, on site or to take away. I was told this will continue with the new owners. It did not !The welcome was very nice friendly attentive and prompt! We were seated in the shade so no need for umbrellas in the nice terrace. We had our bottle of Cider Brut from Pays de Rhuys Nicol nearby, with me galette complete of ham and cheeses, and then crêpe of a scoop of coconut ice cream and caramel sauce, all delicious. As one who usually do not put food dishes, this is a must. We left on the run and again the service continues very nice, by the new couple and one daughter team. We will be back, eventually,

The Barcarella restaurant is located at 4 place du marché , even if the real market is held at pl St Michel nowdays, The resto is very friendly with local folks always attentive and talkative which I like ,and good price/quality ratio, It is open every day from Monday to Sunday at noon for lunch, and from Friday to Sunday at night for dinner. It is located behind the Church St Guigner (see posts) . All decorated with pirates and corsairs portraits trinkets and memorabilia that the owner has collected over time and purchase in flea markets! You have a dining room with the bar area and kitchen and then to the right as you entered another dining room. Our dog Rex once again fantastic even with other dogs in the dining room!
