The Passage Puteaux of Paris !!!

I take you now once again to the passages/galeries of Paris !!! I have been to several but lots more to see , they are just gorgeous. You will see them in the next posts, bear with me, its Paris!!! Glad to have found me more in my old cd roms, great! Therefore, here is my take on the Passage Puteaux of Paris !!! Hope you enjoy it as I.

The Passage Puteaux is located in the 8éme arrondissement of Paris. It is situated between Rue de l’Arcade and Rue Pasquier, and at Rue Tronson-du-Coudray, more precisely by 33, Rue de l’Arcade, and 18, Rue Pasquier, It has a length of 29 meters and a width of 3 meters, making it the shortest in Paris. It bears this name because it was created by Louis François Puteaux, a Parisian developer and municipal councilor of the village of Batignolles, of which he was one of the founders. Opened in 1839, the Passage Puteaux was built near the Gare Saint-Lazare, which was to be built at Rue Tronchet. The Passage Puteaux suffered misfortune, as the Gare Saint-Lazare was ultimately built further north, in the Europe quartier or neighborhood, depriving it of this ideal location. Deprived of the expected passenger flow, it never achieved real success. Lacking major attractive features. The passage was briefly renamed “Passage Pasquier” in 1873 before reverting to its original name. Its original decor is simple but neat, with pilasters delimiting six bays. The passage features Greek-style pilasters with detailed carvings and antique lanterns representing the architectural preferences of 19C Paris. Under the simple gabled glass roof, some chipped moldings and capitals can still be seen. It houses the terraces of the bistro-wine bar “La Boutique des Vins” and the Arboré bar of a boutique hotel, Le Royal Madeleine.
