Memories forever, I did came for the shopping and the walking in the park many times with the family, no need for admission, the library is superbe ! Once again, found me pictures in my cd rom vault that should be in my blog for you and me, Therefore, here is my take again on shopping inside the palace of Versailles, part II !!! Hope you enjoy this post as I
As you know by now after at least my many posts that Versailles is the capital of the Yvelines dept 78 and is in the Île de France region of my belle France. I have told you plenty on the palace and also, that Versailles is a lot more than it. However, it is the time to tell you a bit about the shopping available inside the properties of the Domaine de Versailles!
The Librairie des Princes or princes’ bookstore, located on the left in the courtyard, this space offers walkers and art enthusiasts the opportunity to make purchases outside the Château tour circuit. Freely accessible via the Palace’s main courtyard. The Librarie des Princes, by the Cour d’honneur for books and music. It has 200 m2 of beautiful space, and in the form of an apartment. From the boudoir to the dining room, by way of the library and the bedrooms, works and objects celebrating the French way of life are on offer. These rooms with very marked atmospheres will allow the public to discover more than 1000 different books presented alongside objects and by-products. The disguises of princess, marquise and queen, rub shoulders with the chivalrous world of budding musketeers. Reproductions of 18C toys such as totems, spinning tops, bilboquets, drums and rattles of princes and princesses, invite to playful moments to shared. And many books as well. Worth the visit indeed !!

The Secretaries of State pavilions are connected by main buildings, all of which constitute the ailes des Ministres or Ministers’ wings. They are outbuildings of the Palace of Versailles located in the Honor Court; The aile des Ministres Sud or south ministers wing today houses the Librairie des Princes (see above) as well as the ticket office, and information. Just at the foot of the castle, and without having to present an entry ticket, all literature on Versailles. The library is managed by the national museum reunion, The Information Point allows you to obtain all the information and advice relating to the domain visit. You will find the orientation plans there and you will be provided all the explanations of the cultural offer (shows, themed visits, etc.) it is also possible to book guided tours and organize your day in the best conditions. While the Aile des Ministres Nord or North ministers wing is intended for the reception of groups of visitors. Today, it houses the funds guided tours and subscription. Parking here for cars for people with disabilities can park or be deposited by car or taxi near the entrance, in the castle courtyard , on presentation of proof.

A bit of history I like tell us that they were built in 1679 ; two pavilions which overlooked the Place d’Armes, at the end of the wings of the ministers served under the old corps of guard to the French Guards and the Swiss Guards, responsible for the external protection of the castle. The French guards occupied the end of the south wing while the Swiss guards occupied the northern wing. Their officers had rooms upstairs of the guardhouse; They also had their own dining room as well as a assembly room, where they could play tric-trac (society game) , From 1958, the ailes des ministres or wings of ministers house the housing and reception, intended for presidents of assemblies and quaestors. The premises were returned to the Château de Versailles in 2005.
