He received men of letters including Voltaire, Diderot, d’Alembert, and Moncrif. He made the decoration of the large cabinet or assembly fair on the ground floor on the garden, he took to find a buyer, but rented it between July 1757 and January 1759 at the Marquise de Pompadour, of which he is a friend. In November 1757, she received the Prince of Soubise on the return from the defeat of Rossbach. Other things to see here, me think are the Saint-Loup Church dates from the middle of the 17c or about 1655-1660. It belongs to the city of Champs-sur-Marne since the separation of the church and the State in 1905. Thus, the romance porch of this church carries on the pediment the motto of the French Republic: “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity” . It is one of the many churches in France to wear this motto which, on a religious building, often surprises the visitor, The Marne river is not navigable between Neuilly-sur-Marne and Vaires-sur-Marne, because of the Noisiel dam located near the old Menier chocolate factory. Navigation goes through the Chelles Canal. The Cité Descartes is a recent district thus named in honor of the philosopher René Descartes in the heart of the Cité Descartes is the RER A Noisy-Champs train station between Champs-sur-Marne and Noisy-le-Grand. The Descartes campus brings together important schools/univ such as the National School of bridges and roads (Ponts et Chaussées), the National School of Geographic Sciences (ENSG), ESIEE Paris as well as Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée University and university establishments and research like the higher school of osteopathy with its clinic.
A bit of history tell us that in the 14C to the 15C, after a short passage in the royal domain under Charles V, the lordship of Champs was sold to the house of Orgemont, then returned by alliance to the house of Montmorency. Allied of Henri III against the Catholic League of Henri de Guise, built the Fort de Gournay-sur-Marne and the adjoining dependence of Champs-sur-Marne in order to block the refueling of the leaguers during the siege of Paris. In 1726: Louis XV gathered Noisy-le-Grand, Lognes and Villiers-sur-Marne to his barony in Champs. His son had the castle gardens trace. In 1755, the castle belonged to the Duke of the Vallière. 1892: Count Louis Cahen d’Anvers acquired the castle of Champs-sur-Marne, which it had the buildings and the park restored. Hope you enjoy the post as I.
The City of Champs-sur-Marne is in the historic province of Brie, located in the dept no 77 of Seine-et-Marne in the Île-de-France region of my belle France. It is 24 km from Paris, 25 km from Disneyland Paris by the A4 highway sortie/exit 10, my dear Meaux is 33 km away, 49 km from Versailles, and 491 km from my current house, Internally, you can access it on the A 199 road to Noisiel , Torcy ,and Noisy-le-Grand
You must come here (and me more) for the château de Champs-sur-Marne built near a loop of the Marne river between 1703 and 1707. The accomplished French women pleasure house of the early 18C, with its “U” plan with two short wings on the Honor Court to the South and its rotunda on the garden in the North, it testifies to the evolution of society towards the search for more comfort. It has a park of 85 hectares which combines French and English garden, and labeled remarkable garden. Rare fact, the estate has both a garden and a castle in very good condition. The construction was completed in 1707. French gardens were created around 1710. pic view from the garden.
