The Teatro Calderon of Madrid !!!

I had this wonderful institution mix in with other posts and really, it should have a post of its own, me think, I have expanded on the text using the older pictures in my blog to this nice post. We took a leisure time to walk all over and see these magnificent architecture buildings full of history we love !! Therefore, let me tell you my take on the Teatro Calderon of Madrid !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.

The Teatro Calderón is located at Calle de Atocha no 18 , just in front of Plaza de Jacinto Benavente.(see post ) On June 18, 1917, the Odeón Theater was inaugurated, today known as Calderón. It is surely one of the most beautiful buildings in the center of Madrid, both for its exterior architecture and for interior decoration. Good to take a peek if open for the decorations if no time for a program, Being owned by the Duke of the Infantado, it finally became the Teatro Calderón.

Housed within the Teatro Calderón building is this fully renovated, 1,000 m² rooftop venue with a capacity of 900 people; it features a 74 m² stage, a sky bar with a panoramic terrace, and state-of-the-art technical equipment. The 7th floor aka Lírico, includes dressing rooms, a retractable roof with blackout capabilities, and a technical floor adaptable to various event formats. Furthermore, its professional audiovisual setup and high-quality furnishings ensure a functional yet sophisticated environment. Spanning 450 m² atop the Teatro Calderón, the 8th floor offers panoramic views and combines spaciousness, technology, and exclusivity. It features private access, two elevators, and cutting-edge infrastructure, ensuring both comfort and privacy. Its versatility makes it the perfect venue for product launches, conferences, gala dinners, and corporate gatherings in the heart of Madrid.

The Teatro Calderón would be your worthwhile to take a peek if open for the decorations if no time for a program, we were passing by with the boys, and each time no time for a show. It has capacity for more than a thousand spectators. It occupies part of the site of the former Convent of the Trinitarios Calzados (footed Trinitarians). A year after its inauguration, it was transferred to the Centro de Hijos de Madrid (center of Sons of Madrid), and began to be known as Teatro del Centro (theater of the Center). It changed its  owner and name again in 1927. Because of its great capacity, rather than the technical conditions of the stage, the Teatro Calderon has been a theater for lyrical shows for almost all its history. During the Second Republic it was an opera house and after the Spanish Civil War it was the favorite scene of the zarzuela lyric artists. The zarzuela has also been an intermittent constant of its programming. It also hosted the Madrid Symphony Orchestra. In recent years, it regularly programs large national and international musical shows. On January 24, 2007, for sponsorship reasons, the Teatro Calderón was renamed Teätro Häagen Dazs Calderón after the ice cream brand Häagen-Dazs. In 2012, it was renamed Teatro Caser Calderón after the insurance company Caser. In 2025, its management is in the hands of Beon Entertainment,
