The foodie in A Coruña !!!

I have been here several times and plenty in my blog, but never forget the great time had in it over the years, A Coruña is a wonderful City of Galicia, and these are new older pictures found in my vault and they should be in my blog, Therefore, here is my take on the foodie in A Coruña !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I.

We went by the famous La Bombilla restaurant at Rua Galera in old town, this was told is a classic all visitors to La Coruña should come (A Coruña in the local Galician language). We had our potato rolls with chorizos and more beer Estrella Galicia here, a must stop on any night in A Coruña. Sadly the owners died and the new owners daughter hire new personnel , it was closed for a while and now back open as the sons had an interest, and the employees stuck around.  The resto was founded in 1953 by Spaniards coming back from living in Uruguay and open the bar, the name is said to means there was the only light post in town at the time.  The restaurantguru reviews on La Bombillahttps://restaurantguru.com/La-Bombilla-A-Coruna

We went out to a resto bar I already knew not far from the hotel for dinner in good company; the place is Bogart Baar, and it is a modern resto with great service good food, good beer, and friendly chat; we had the 3 cuts of meats dish to share , the jarra or pints of beer, and dessert ,coffee all for 19€ per person. Best ambiance and best deal in town , still follow them up in FB! The official Bogart Baarhttp://bogartbaar.es/

There was the game of Real Madrid vs Deportivo La Coruña and saw it live on a bar call O’Sampaio ,Calle  Bailén, 4 Bajo  in old town , and the place was loaded, not to mention I saw the game and we won 2X6! Hala Madrid!!!  The official O’Sampaio resto: https://osampaio.es/

Each night we went to a different place and another one was A Taberna de Cunqueiro at Rúa Estrella, 22 a nice bar in a lively night street of good ambiance and family oriented with good friends is a must, Calle de la Estrella, tops. More chorizos, squids!! (pulpo)  and beers lol! The official A Taberna de Cunqueiro:  https://atabernadecunqueiro.com/

We went out for dinner, and first had a drink with tapas at Soho Café, a trendy place with plenty of locals. We had some cañas or tall glass of beer Estrella Galicia, and then some bits of cheese and ham; great place and good company! The official Soho Caféhttps://sohocafecoruna.com/

I went to these but can’t find me pictures yikes ,anyway here for the memories of always.

We moved on to a more sturdy meal at Alma Negra restaurant, where we had a Racion full of cold cuts, cheeses, and cold meats all wash down with a great 2014 Juan Gil red wine from Jumilla.  Just wonderful indeed and friendly service, excellent food and good ambiance one is in Calle Barrera,13. We finish the night at Alquimia for some small tapas and red wine from the house, quick and easy nice the way things are done there, easy does it life is beautiful as we say La Vida es Chula!! As web not working need to check before going if still open as the virus change things all over. Indeed confirm closed but the memories lingered, it was at Rúa Barrera, 5,

I think fitting in this page to put the hotels I stayed in my trips to the city as also, ate in them.

The perennial stayed then was just beginning but it was my central lodging in future trips. It is the Attica 21 Hotel, very modern contemporary in a nice area just about 6 km from the beaches.  The district of Matogrande very up and coming area with lots of night life too. It is about 5 minutes by car from the airport fast driving. By taxi was 15,50€ on a nice ride from airport  The hotel has spacious modern rooms and a great breakfast restaurant with private parking and helpful staff. On one occasion I came in and went as far away as Portugal and coming for second stayed on same trip the above hotel was no available, and I just needed to rent for one night , the winner wasthe AC Hotel, and was ok, actually they are next to the Attica21 Hotel.  The AC Hotel are part of the Marriott group : https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/lcgco-ac-hotel-a-coruna/overview/
