The Le Village Royal of Paris !!!

I found two new pictures in my cd rom vault that should be in my blog for you and me. This blog is the story of my life and its all here if you look. Some of the nice things happening to me was to work in Paris while living in Versailles in my early entry into France.  I like to tell you briefly on this unique spot which walked by it every day to work for years ; dear to my memories. Hidden in the heart of the Madeleine quartier or neighborhood, the Village Royal is an elegant Parisian passageway. It is an exotic place, out of time. This passageway has existed for more than 270 years. Today, we appreciate its calm and its beautiful boutiques. Le Village Royal entrance is on 25 rue Royale and 24 rue Boissy d’Anglas, 8éme arrondissement or district of Paris, Métro Madeleine lines 8, 12 and 14, Open every day from 8h30 to 20h30.

A simple plot of land, between Chemin du Rempart (now Rue Royale) and Rue de la Magdeleine (now Rue Boissy d’Anglas), with its barracks built on the edge. Barracks,but not just any barracks, those of our valiant musketeers, the royal guard of Louis XIII, On August 1745: the land was sold. It was decided that a passageway, alongside the guards’ barracks, would soon be created to accommodate the many stalls of butchers, fishmongers, fruit sellers, and other food businesses. On July 1746: the Aguesseau market was inaugurated

In 1760 and 1785, the buildings which still face each other today on either side of the beautiful pedestrian street of the Village Royal rose from the ground, backing onto the barracks. Sublime, the market thrived for decades, A place,typically Parisian and full of color, which quickly became a must-see for everyone. In 1837: we celebrated its first renovation! In1877, the Aguesseau market becomes, forty years later, the Cité Berryer. The passage changes its name to lawyer Pierre-Nicolas Berryer in homage to a prominent politician of his time, a famous opponent of Napoleon III. From 1992, time for the metamorphosis! A spectacular renovation operation begins: on the 8000 m2 of the estate, a vast construction site is launched , Shops, apartments, offices… the new face of the Village is revealed! On1994: the site reopens, renamed Village Royal, And became the perfect setting for luxury brands. Home to prestigious brands such as Dior and Chanel, which know working with them in financial deals !! And of course enjoy their creations.

There you go folks, a dandy memory lane reminder of a nice chic spot in my eternal Paris, and favorite shopping spree for a happier moment in my life. There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting. Moving average a home every 5.5 years hopefully this will be my last. Cheers All rights reserved.
