The Parc de la Butte du Chapeau Rouge of Paris !!!

Why not head for a park in Paris, and even if not well known more power to find out the natural beauby of my eternal Paris. The beautiful city has plenty of parks and places of wonders , and I like to tell you about an off the beaten path park. I found me new pictures from my cd rom vaults that should be in my blog for you and me. Therefore, let me tell you a bit on the Parc de la Butte du Chapeau Rouge of Paris !!! Hope you enjoy it as I.

The parc de la Butte-du-Chapeau-Rouge is located in the Amerique quartier or neighborhood of the 19éme arrondissement or district of Paris, near the Boulevard Périphérique. Its name evokes a former open-air café in Pré-Saint-Gervais. This site is served by line 7bis at the Pré-Saint-Gervais metro station and by line 3b of the Île-de-France tramway at the Butte du Chapeau-Rouge station. For pedestrians, the main entrance faces the monumental fountain, between 5 and 11 Boulevard d’Algérie. Another entrance exists at 5 Avenue Debidour. Monumental fountain topped by a statue, Eve, by Raymond Couvègnes (1938). It comes from the Delessert gate of the 1937 Universal Exhibition. And the Statue The Childhood of Bacchus (1938).

Formerly, the Butte du Chapeau-Rouge was a part of the Pré-Saint-Gervais plain, animated by a guinguette which gave it its name. Here, in the early 1910s, left-wing political movements and unions gathered to defend pacifism against militarism. There, in the middle of a veritable human tide, Jean Jaurès delivered his speech against the three-year law tending to extend military service by one year. The park, with an area of 4.7 hectares, was opened in 1939 in a neoclassical style. Little known to Parisians, the park offers a clear view of the northeastern suburbs of the city. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
