The passage Saint Louis of Versailles !!!

I have done plenty of posts on the streets of my dear Versailles but there are always older new pictures not in my blog that should be for you and me, After all, this blog is my life’s history and I thank you for coming along with me on my ride. Versailles needs no introduction me think ! However, just to make sure ,,,,I am bragging lol! I used to lived in Versailles for almost 10 years upon entering France! And have come back to visit several times never tired of it.  Therefore, let me tell you about the passage Saint Louis of Versailles !!! Hope you enjoy it as I.

The Passage Saint Louis is a short passageway very quant we love to go under the houses in the Quartier or neighborhood Saint Louis of my dear Versailles, You come out on the side of the Cathedral Saint Louis (see post) ,sublime, The most awesome walk is to go by the Avenue de Sceaux turn right into rue Royale turn right into rue du marché neuf and continue into the passage Saint Louis, you come out into rue Saint Honoré facing Place Saint Louis and the cathedral !

The Saint-Louis district is south of the château along the axis of the Avenue de Paris, and takes its name from the Saint-Louis Cathedral, seat of the diocese of Versailles, which is located there. It is one of the two districts, with the Notre-Dame district (mine!), created under Louis XIV to the east of the Château de Versailles, both built in a checkerboard pattern around eponymous central squares, on which the markets were established. It is made up of two very distinct sub-districts: Vieux-Versailles, in the immediate vicinity of the Château, and the Saint-Louis district itself, which gravitates around the Saint-Louis Cathedral. This district actually occupies the former deer park of Louis XIII. This district was urbanized from 1685, just about the opening of the passage Saint-Louis.

In the Saint-Louis district, it is the passage of the same name which opens to the left of the cathedral to connect the Saint-Louis squares and their pretty restaurants and boutiques. This passage Saint Louis the legend has it was a former haunt of bandits! A few decades ago, the local residents even signed a petition to have it closed at night but in return they were only entitled to the installation of a street lamp. Today very quiet, it provides access to the charming Saint-Louis squares and its restored and picturesque low houses. And this is how a whole neighborhood opens up before you, with its unique shops and restaurants.
