I have come here many times as it was very close to my old home you know in that other palace/museum and Saint Germain en Laye is nice too. Needless for me to tell you it is one of my favorite cities in France ,and yes they are many!. My family enjoy it very much, and we remember well the times spent here shopping and eating. I have walked its streets and taste the great places we usually went. It is always with great memories that we have come here thereafter. And yes this is in Yvelines dept 78 of the Île de France region of my belle France. I have found me some pics in my cd rom vault that should allow me to update this older post with new text in my blog for you and me! Therefore, let me tell you about the streets of Saint Germain en Laye, part I !!! Hope you enjoy the post as I
One of our best street for walks and shopping was rue au Pain, and here you have at No 1 Father & Sons men’s clothing one of my favorites, and the wonderful bakery Pâtisserie Grandin at No 13, And if shopping here is not enough come to see the historically famous at No. 38 see in the courtyard of Claude Debussy’s birthplace, discover the magnificent wooden balustraded staircase, the only one still visible in Saint-Germain-en-Laye. It dates from the end of the 17C. Take the stairs and climb to the first floor. You’re now at the Claude Debussy Museum (see post). The composer was born here on August 22, 1862. At No 50 Armand Thiery Femme our favorite modist for men and women this one my dear Martine favorite for woman clothing,The rue au Pain continues along the Mareil-Marly road.

The rue de Poissy has officially become pedestrianized. This new pedestrianization begins just after the entrance to the QPark car park and ends at Place du Vieux Marché. Tough as this was one of the ways we came into the City aka D190, and parked at the Qpark car park !, Here we enjoyed the bakery of Eric Kayser at no, 3, Also, the market at the place du Marché which passes next to it, and is a wonderful place to shop for fruits, vegetables, cheeses, meats etc we love it too, There is ,also, some above ground parking at Place de la Victoire, The rue de Poissy joins the Route de Poissy D190, which crosses the forest, on one side, and Le Pecq and Paris roads, which run along the Seine, on the other.

The Administrative Center of the City is on Rue Léon Désoyer, with the parking Clos saint louis Nord at No 117, It ,also passes by the old cemetery at No 78bis that repose in peace the commonwealth war graves WWI, Tomb of Jacques Fesch, and Jacques Tati, However, what was interesting here me think was the Wallace fountain green color at the corner of Rue Léon Désoyer and Rue d’Alger, This street continues into Rue de Pologne where my dear Martine shop at the Monoprix store and I found underground parking ! Zenpark 63 rue de Pologne !
