The Palais de Tokyo of Paris, part II !!!

I drove by here a lot as was one of my easy entry to Paris from Versailles where we used to live, The area having wonderful historical monuments and restaurants is now coming up to be known as for many years was an off the beaten path trail of my eternal Paris, This is my fav 16éme arrondissement ,and I like to to tell you more on the Palais de Tokyo as gladly found me a picture in my cd rom vault that should be in my blog for you and me. Therefore, let me tell you a bit more on the Palais de Tokyo of Paris, part II !!! Hope you enjoy it as I.

The Palais de Tokyo is  located along the Seine on avenue de New York and  Ave du Président Wilson. The building was a series of 3 built in 1937 during the International Exposition. The original name was the Palais des Musées d’art Moderne or the palace of modern arts museum, designates a building dedicated to modern and contemporary art. It is located at 13, Avenue du President-Wilson in the 16éme arrondissement or district of Paris , You can reach it by metro stations Alma – Marceau and Iéna on line 9. Also, closest Bus line 72, as well as RER C  Pont de l’Alma.

It is composed of two wings, the palace houses in the west wing a center of contemporary art, the Palais de Tokyo, while the east wing, owned by the city of Paris, houses the Museum of Modern Art of the city of Paris. The outer shell of the building is completely built in marble. The exhibition area is one of the greatest for contemporary art on the international stage. In the Palais de Tokyo one of the largest art bookstores in Paris, 450 m2 !!  Also, 3 wonderful restaurants ,my fav the Palais Café offers healthy, simple and gourmet cuisine, based on sustainable and environmentally friendly consumption models.

For info , the Palais de Tokyo will be under renovations, and schedule to open during 2026. Check before coming to it ok.

Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
