I like to tell you about a lovely town I like a lot and lucky enough to lived next to it for 9+ years. This post is due to the fact that finally found me a picture in my cd rom vault of this venerable spot. The maison natale musée Claude Debussy to the glory of the famous composer Claude Debussy is located at 38 rue au Pain, The native home of Claude-Debussy was closed for renovations and reopened for 2023 on the occasion of European Heritage Days . More repairs were done, closed and reopened again on 23 novembre 2024. A unique place, bringing together all the objects associated with the famous French composer in the house where he was born, It was in this 17C house, owned by the city, that Claude Debussy  was born on August 22, 1862 and spent his early childhood. His father indeed had a business of earthenware on the ground floor , It very quickly became at his death in 1918 the main meeting place for all his admirers.

The history of the native house or maison natale begins during the Renaissance with the establishment of the grain and flour market by king François I. The bakers set up their stalls in the street that would become rue au Pain or bread street. The cellars of the building date from this period, but it was then a small house with a small garden and accommodation at the back of the courtyard. The House went through the centuries without much modification, only its owners and tenants succeeded one another. The newlyweds Manuel-Achille and Victorine Debussy bought this business and moved into the House, in the apartment on the first floor, the largest. Unfortunately, in 1864, Debussy father declared bankruptcy and the family left Saint-Germain-en-Laye. Claude Debussy died on March 25, 1918 in his Parisian mansion, avenue du Bois de Boulogne. The birthplace, which was still a rental building, becomes a place of pilgrimage encouraged by the Debussy Committee chaired by Maurice Denis, Gabriel Astruc and Emma Debussy, widow of the composer. The municipal museum of Saint-Germain-en-Laye begins to build a collection of works and objects linked to the musician thanks to donations and purchases, but the creation of a museum space had to wait until 1980 when the City decided to acquire the building. The Claude-Debussy native house museum was inaugurated in 1990. It is today part of the municipal museum Ducastel-Vera, Info above translated from the city site below.

Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
