I will take on again, the Palace of Versailles on this post. Of course, plenty more in my blog but just found older pictures on one of my cd roms ,that I like to show them for you and me. This is a wonderful huge property , and a must to come even crowded, very popular by all. The Grand cabinet du Dauphin: Originally, there were three rooms here: the room and the cabinet of Monsieur, and the cabinet of Madame Palatine, his wife. They then served as the Grand Dauphin who gathered them in 1693 to form the current great room. The decor was renewed in 1747 for the son of Louis XV; Louis of France ,was never king but he was the father of Louis XVI, Louis XVIII and Charles X, The fireplace and part of the carved woodwork have survived. To decorate the top-of-door, the son of Louis XV had asked Nattier to represent his sisters in the use, a daughter of France carries the title of Madame followed by her first name. The princesses were commonly called ladies of France or ladies., Élisabeth, Henriette, Adelaide and Victoire, with the attributes of the four elements. These paintings are today at the São Paulo museum (Brazil) and are replaced here by works of French painters. The celestial globe and terrestrial and this globe where the emerged and submarine reliefs were figured created in 1786 at the request of Louis XVI, who intended it for the education of his son. Marie-Thérèse of Austria, wife of Louis XIV, gives birth to Louis de France, known as “Monseigneur”, in 1661, at the Château de Fontainebleau (see posts). Dauphin during his life, he received the title of Grand Dauphin at his death, to distinguish him from his son the Duke of Burgundy. then became Dauphin.

The chambre de Madame Victoire: It was the ionic antechamber of the Bains apartment, so named because of the twelve marble columns that decorated it. Second antechamber of the Count of Toulouse, then of the Countess of Toulouse, then of Madame Adélaïde and finally of younger Ladies,it became in 1767 the room of Madame Sophie and in 1769 that of Madame Victoire. The beautiful woodwork , and the hunched taffeta alcôve hanging reproduces the “summer furniture” of Madame Victoire. In 1769, the two corners, which were sold during the French revolution, passed to Russia and then in England, where they were bought in 1982.

At the Petit Trianon see the salon du Billard: Under Louis XV, this soberly paneled piece was furnished with a rich billiards, but the latter was transferred to the first floor by Marie-Antoinette in 1784, and replaced by another more ordinary, intended for the use of guard officers whose room was on the other side of the vestibule. On the chimney is a reproduction of the bust of the queen. The original is preserved today at the Louvre. On the wall, one of the sovereign’s portraits.
