The halle or covered market of Meung sur Loire !!!

We have driven in the area and stop by finally, and a great surprise indeed, This is the nice City of Meung-sur-Loire located in the Loiret department no. 45 in the Centre-Val de Loire region of my belle France, There is so much to see , and did see more for you and me, So close by it many times and finally in ,a great surprise, nice town indeed! Therefore, here is my take on the halle or covered market of Meung sur Loire !!! Hope you enjoy it as I.

It was on the site of the Halle or covered market that the Hôtel-Dieu was located, which welcomed the sick and infirm, but also pilgrims attracted by the relics of Saint-Liphard. It was destroyed in 1913 and replaced in 1945 by a covered market hall. It can be seen that the market or halle were essentially built from wood, something quite surprising for the period! During the post-war period, the material most often used for new constructions was metal. Today, the halle are the site of the Sunday morning market, but also of many of the town’s events. It is a real place of life and gathering.

The halle or covered market were built in 1940 on the site of a former hospital destroyed at the beginning of the 20C, it was renovated in 1985. Pass by its medieval halle where the Hôtel-Dieu once stood, which welcomed the sick and the infirm, but also pilgrims who came to pay their respects before the relics of Saint-Liphard.

Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
