The Maison de la Chancellerie, aka Hôtel de la Chancellerie du Presidial or more commonly, the Chancellery is at the corner of rue du Lion-Ferré and rue Chemonton, It was built in the 16C, this house owes its former name to its former function as Chancellery of the Presidial, where the sentences  and other acts of jurisdiction were sealed. The Maison de la Chancellerie is currently the private property of the city of Blois, thus ensuring its preservation and management in the collective and heritage interest of the city.

The rue du Grénier à Sel or Place (square), or salt attic ; here was a salt depot that the Gabelle officers were responsible for perceiving. This tax applied to this precious commodity which passed through from the Atlantic coast by the Loire river! You are in deep traditional beautiful Blois ! See the Hôtel Jassaud mansion built under Louis XII undoubtedly for Pierre Cottereau, master of waters and forests of the county of Blois, this hotel bears the name of Nicolas de Jassaud, owner in the 17C. A short street by a very small place du Grenier à Sel. So nice we had lunch here at Les Planches ,5 Rue du Grenier à Sel, cozy restaurant, combining the old stones and a modern decoration ,The additional charm of the establishment remains the summer terrace, which can make you relive the most beautiful hours of the medieval Blois. An exceptional discovery, passing through the alleys of the old town in a very pretty setting.  Of course, the food is tops homemade and great friendly service, To be back, eventually, No webpage but RestaurantGuru reviews on Les Planches : https://restaurantguru.com/Les-Planches-Blois
