The Cité du Vin is a place of exhibition on the theme of wine in Bordeaux, The short of it ,an endowment fund was created in 2011 to collect private donations. The structure has a form of a knotted vineyard to recall both a wine turning in a glass and the eddies of the Garonne, which borders the site, The building of 9,000 m3 has on its facade screen printing glass and glass panels and iridescent perforated lacquered aluminum panels. The tower culminates at 55 meters. The building has an area of 13,350 m2, divided into 8 different levels.
The ground floor is home to a wine of 14,000 bottles, representing seventy viticultural regions buying and tasting on site are possible in catering areas attached to a souvenir store, operated by the Cité du Vin. On the first floor, there are temporary exhibition spaces, a reading show, discovered workshops (tasting, food and wine agreement, etc.), and an auditorium of 250 places welcoming throughout the year and events and shows. The second floor, heart of the visit, welcomes the permanent journey, an immersive journey through time and space to discover wine as cultural, universal and lively heritage: twenty thematic spaces constitute a tour of a duration of a duration Estimated at two hours, accompanied by the travel companion, an innovative technological tool ensuring the triggering of multimedia content, the labial translation in 8 languages and accessibility for all audiences.
