The Monument to Vittorio Emanuele II of Rome, part III !!

And here I go again with eternal Rome !! I had several business trips over the years and once took the family on a long 2 weeks vacation, and they love it , In Rome , we were confronted with lots of history and architecture which we love. However, one building really struck us for its size, meaning and even a bit of controversy. Oh yes it is the Monument of Vittorio Emmanuel IIthe unifying king of Italyknown there as Vittoriano as well. I like to add to my previous post on as found older new pictures to my blog that should be in, Therefore, here my take on the Monument to Vittorio Emanuele II of Rome, part III !! After two posts plenty written on it, here are some notes on it, The monument to Vittorio Emanuele II is located inPiazza Venezia (Venice Square). At the center of the monument stands the altar of the Fatherland (Altai della Patria), while the interior of the building houses the museum on the Reunification of Italy (Museo del Risorgimento).  The immense monument of an immaculate white marble, made between 1885 and 1911 to celebrate the 50 years of the Italian unity. It was built in honor of Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of Italy unified in 1861. It was built in the neo Classic style. The building of it is 140 meters long and 70 meters high.

You have plenty to see and walk around here, things are plenty by the Piazza Venezia such as the Fiori Imperiale, Church Santa Maria di Loreto, Palazzo Valentini ,Palazzo Bonaparte, Basilica San Marco Evangelista al Campidoglio, Piazza di San Marco, Piazza de Aracoeli, Temple de Vénus Genitrix, and Basilica Santa Maria D’Aracœli, Lovely walk indeed !
