This whole square Place du Marché Notre Dame is lined with charming little cafés and restaurants on the terrace that invite you to take a little break! Two steps away, in the cobbled alleys that surround the geometric shape on four sides, the boutiques are pretext for a small stroll that allows to pass from the storefronts of antique shops to passages that seem to come straight from the Latin quarter  Sublime !!!

Built under Louis XIII, France’s second largest market is full of fresh and regional products. Always in the same location since the 17C, the king requested that markets, benches, vices and other things necessary to accommodate the merchants and protect the goods be erected in the most convenient places possible. The market square is lively every day and is one of the most important commercial hubs in the city of Versailles.

The market or marché is the Marché de Notre Dame and Halles Notre Dame, the difference is the Marché is open air, fruits, veggies, etc alternating with a clothing market while the Halles are covered market dating from the domaine de Clagny c1665. There in the carré Notre Dame . You get here from chateau follow straight out to your left and take ave Saint Cloud to the corner of ave de l’Europe and rue du Maréchal Foch, you take a left and the market is right in front of your eyes.
