Val d’Europe shopping mall !!!

Ok so coming often to the region and doing all sorts of things one of them was shopping, I admit we do it less often today but when with my dear late wife Martine it was sort of her hobby lol ! She love it, I am thrill to tell you that I came to the area again, to visit old stumping ground and a big part we all know, Needless to say needed to stop by my sentimental city of Meaux (see posts) ,and a place never missed when around the area for shopping is the Val d’Europe shopping center mall !! Of course, all this is in my dear Seine et Marne dept 77 of the Île de France region of my belle France. Therefore, let me tell you about my old/new shopping spree at Val d’Europe shopping center !! Val d’Europe is the name of the new town of Marne-la-Vallée, 35 km from Paris. It is served by the A4 highway to the south as well as by the Île-de-France RER line A and the TGV high-speed Interconnexion Paris-Est line. As we go by car most times you can get off the I 4 on sortie or exit 12.1, 13 and 14.  Val d’Europe is made up of six towns. Five of them  Bailly-Romainvilliers,  Chessy ,  Coupvray,  Magny-le-Hongre and Serris . The sixth town, Villeneuve-le-Comte, joined the general interest project in 2011. The six towns, as well as four neighboring towns are grouped into an urban community, called Val d’Europe Agglomération (VEA) , The Disney’s Davy Crockett Ranch (our favorite and again there)  is located in the far south of the town of Bailly-Romainvilliers, south of the A4 highway, just like the town of Villeneuve-le-Comte which hosts the Nature Villages.(once stayed there ),See posts,  The fact that Euro Disney holds a priority purchase option on 1,945 hectares of land in return for a commitment to develop housing, office and business districts, represents the only case in France on this scale.of an involvement of a private company in urban development , Euro Disney build a 9,300 m2 office building in Val d’Europe on avenue Hergé, Val d’Europe includes the leading European tourist destination. It includes two theme parks Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park, and the Disney Village entertainment center, in the town of Chessy; the Disneyland golf course, in the town of Magny-le-Hongre; six hotels, in the towns of Chessy, Coupvray and Bailly-Romainvilliers. The place is loaded reminds me of that other place development in Florida,,,,,

The Val d’Europe shopping center (mall) opened on October 25, 2000 and includes an Auchan hypermarket of approximately 16,000 m2 on two levels, including one dedicated to food on 2,500 m2, as well as a covered gallery bringing together some 140 stores for a total of 98,400 m2 of commercial space. At the end of this gallery is a restaurant center called Les Terrasses, housing several restaurants open seven days a week. At the heart of the Terrasses is the entrance to an aquarium located in the basement, the Sea Life Paris Val of Europe. This park is dedicated to the defense of marine fauna and flora.

Continuing from the gallery, on the other side of the catering hub, is an independent, outdoor and uncovered commercial space, called La Vallée Village. This welcomes, in an idealized Briarde architecture, 120 brands of major brands at discounted prices and a few rare fast food places as well as a Pierre Hermé macaron shop.

We really have a blast each time here and it shows again, This time with less in our group as the years go by and the loves one are gone but always remembered, This time was there with my 3 boys and my dog Rex who quietly as an angel stayed in the car with ventilation, We did our grocery shopping for the Davy Crockett’s bungalow we stayed in at the Auchan, which was our favorite supermarket when we lived in Versailles ! We had and went straight for lunch at Indiana Café as it reminds me of my forays in Paris and coming with the boys was superbe !!!

While at Indiana Café we had mostly the fajitas con carne and spicy selection along with a Corona beers, and cheesecake dessert all wonderful and full with still prompt service, The plus we spoked with next door table who were Mexicans living in Orléans ! Small world indeed,

The Val d’Europe shopping center has been expanded by an additional 17,000 m2 with 29 additional stores19, including a 7,400 m2 Primark brand. Access to the shopping center can be made directly from exit no. 12.1 of the A4 highway/motorway. Watch for sign reading “Centre Commercial Régional” exit/sortie.

There you go folks, always memorable moments that stayed with you no matter what, time does not diminished the sadness of not having my dear late wife Martine who introduce me to this region and the shopping around it. This is a great combination of shopping and Disneyland Paris parks. My background comes all the way from Candelaria and Pajara in Tenerife, Spain where my grandparents came from ;not knowing each other then, to Punta Brava, west of Havana, Cuba. There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
