The Pavillon Grille des Matelots of Versailles !!!

I have to tell you again on my Versailles, always will be there for me, My memorable moments here are endless, if Paris is worth a Republic, Versailles is worth a Kingdom ! This is Versailles where we spent the first 9+ years of our lives, and keep many nice memorable moments. Of course, Versailles is the capital City of the department 78 of Yvelines in the Île de France region of my belle France, I found me a lose picture that needs to be in my blog ,therefore, this is the post on the Pavillon Grille des Matelots, a wonderful side entry to the domain, Hope you enjoy this post as I.

The Grille des Matelots gate is by the road to Saint-Cyr L’école or D10, This road passes outside the Orangerie and past the Porte des Cent Marshes (see post), It is one of the entry point to the park of the Domaine de Versailles.  We have come when try to minimize the crowds and is a giver.

From the Pavillon Grille des Matelots you can access the parc and go into the domaine and gardens by the Allée des Matelots. It is reserve for the pedestrians and cyclist only. The opening hours are from April to October :7h to 19h30 (last entry at 19h), And from November to March : 8h to 18h (last entry 17h30).

Good to know, even if all want to go inside the palace, the access to the park is free for pedestrians or car if can show proof of mobility impaired, However, if you go through the gardens from April to October, you have to pay for entry on Fountains show and Musical garden days. Consequently, you must have a Passport ticket, a Musical Gardens ticket or a Fountains Shows ticket. The park area in the back are still free, get it !

The Domaine de Versailles now occupies 874 hectares. Staff (all social levels combined) of the Public Establishment and families are housed in different outbuildings. They usually come by gate such as the one above, The buildings to house them are in the palace and around, the Hôtel des Reservoirs, the South and North Wing of the Ministers, the Grande and Petite Écurie du Roi , the Pavilion of Massipe, the Petit Contrôle, the Small Orangery, the Cent Marches or Hundred Steps, the Pièce d’eau des Suisses or pond, the Grange du Mail, the Pavilions of the gates of Neptune, the Dragon, the Jambettes and the Petit Pon etc, Those of the Grand Parc: The Pavillon of the Grille des Matelots (as above) , the Menagerie du Roi, the Pavillon du Bouillon, the Pavilion de La Lanterne, the Commons of Trianon, the Pavilions of the Régie and the Dairy, the Pavilion and the Orangery de Jussieu, the Pavillon de Châteauneuf, the Hameau de la Reine, the Pavillon de la Porte Saint-Antoine (another favorite entry point, see post) , and the Pavillon de la Grille de la Reine.
