My personal curiosities of Saint Cyr l’Ecole !!!

I love to tell you more of this memorable spot for my family, and found me couple older new to the blog pictures to show you. This is very closed to our old home in Versailles. My dear late wife Martine love gardening and heard of this place; I look it up and saw the important historical spot so of course no gamers we went for it. It was our spot for garden supplies and came to participate in many activities here like egg hunting at Easter. Let me tell you again about my personal curiostities of  La Ferme de Gally or Gally’s farm in Saint Cyr l’école!  Of course, this is in the Yvelines dept 78of the Île de France region of my belle France. I like to tell you a bit on this wonderful Ferme de Gally or Gally’s farm in Saint Cyr l’école. The farm of Gally is located at the western end of the park of the Domaine de Versailles. It is about  3 km from the palace/museum, you can walk all the way around the Grand Canal, and passing front of Grand Trianon, sublime !!! The farm of  Gally is located between the l’Etoile Royale (in the north), the Allée Royal de  Villepreux, and the Porte de Maintenon  at Bailly (south). For location by car they are at CD 7, Chemin de Bailly, 78210 Saint-Cyr-l’École , Open every day from 9h30 to 19h.

For 10 centuries, the Gally farm has stood there, between the forest of Marly and the hills of Saint-Cyr-l’École, on land first cleared and then patiently cultivated by a small human community, primarily monks, as often and everywhere, then ploughmen, market gardeners, gardeners; all committed, by destiny, then by choice, to take charge of feeding, as long as it is necessary and as it is necessary, the population of the surroundings.

There are 3 boutiques now and many more elsewhere, I will concentrate on the original and my fav place to go egg hunting in Easter with the boys or just shopping there and collecting fruits and vegetables by hand ! As well as a small petting farm with domestic animals!  It is one of the most famous educational farms around Paris, one of the oldest too. If coming for the picking or the petting farm better call ahead for reservations.

There , my parents born in Cuba met and later on I was born there too. 100% guanche (annexed Tenerife to Spain on April 10 ,1496). I left Cuba as many have to Madrid, Spain where I lived for 4 years. Then, move to Perth Amboy ,New Jersey USA (living there 13 yrs) ; where I completed high school, became a US Citizen, learned to drive a car, and learned English. Afterward, went to the university in Florida, ERAU, and upon graduation decided to moved there to Ormond by the Sea, near Daytona Beach, finally moving North Miami, then Hialeah, then another moved to Silver Lakes division in Miramar, Broward county, Florida; in Florida I lived a total of 18 years. Finally , moved to France in 2003 ,Versailles call me for its royalty, and working in Paris was great. It was time to seek frontiers again and moved to Brech near Auray, Morbihan in Brittany , and later move to not too far Pluvigner. Total so far in France has been 20 years, and counting.
